B.Tech. Students Of Alliance University Win Second Prize At The Ieee Tech-Avishkar Hackathon
36 students from Alliance University took part in the IEEE Mysore ORGANIZED TECH-AVISHKAR 24-Hours Hackathon held at ATME College of Engineering. Nearly 172 people from 26 different schools in Karnataka State took part in the Hackathon, resulting in the presentation of 43 fully functional project prototypes.
Students from Alliance University took second place for their "Smart Gas Booking and Leakage Detection System" in the IEEE Tech-Avishkar Hackathon. B.Tech. student in Alliance University's College of Engineering and Design Sheshadri K served as the team's leader. Under Dr. Aireddy's tutelage at the College of Engineering and Design, the team also included students Mandeep M, Shankar J, G. Narayana Swamy, and Basavaraj.
The mentor of the winning project, Dr. Harinath Aireddy, an associate professor at Alliance College of Engineering and Design, claims that technological advancements in recent years have made many aspects of human life easier. This is reflected in how we use utilities, which has real-world consequences. LPG cylinders are a good illustration of this type of appliance. Liquefied Petroleum Gas, also known as LPG, is an essential cooking fuel. Some of the most typical issues that arise from using an LPG cylinder are the cylinder running out of gas during peak cooking hours, neglecting to check the level of gas in the container, and failing to forecast the working days of the LPG cylinder. The lack of stability in these areas does not prevent their use, but it does make normal tasks like restocking or dealing with leaks more difficult and time-consuming.
Alliance University's Alliance College of Engineering and Design students suggested the "Smart Gas Booking and Leakage Detection System" project to address these issues. The goal of this project is to create a smartphone app-enabled smart gadget that can be used by LPG customers to place gas orders, keep track of inventory, and identify any potential gas leaks at a reduced risk and cost.
Alliance University Organises Guest Lectures On Cyber Security And Ethical Hacking For Students Of CS And IT
Alliance University's Department of Computer Science and Information Technology hosted a Guest Lecture on "Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking," which proved extremely helpful to students majoring in cyber security. Mr. Sreenath Gopinath, Director & CMO at Techbyheart India Pvt. Ltd., Kochi, and Mr. Dhanoop R, Cyber Security Analyst at Tech Byheart India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, led the sessions. Both men are Associate Members of the National Cyber Safety Security standards.
Cybersecurity refers to the practice of defending information systems and networks from malicious attacks. Electronic information security, often known as IT security or security in the age of information technology, is a relatively new field. Ethical hacking is a valid technique that entails locating vulnerabilities in an application, system, or organization's infrastructure and going beyond system security to discover potential data breaches and network threats. Ethical hackers probe the system or network for weaknesses that malicious hackers can use to their advantage. They can strengthen defences to fend off or prevent attacks.
