Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar is inviting applications for PhD Admission 2025 (Full-Time and Part-Time) in multiple disciplines. Candidates can apply online through the XIM University Bhubneshwar Admission Portal before February 28, 2025. Selection is based on XRAT, Presentation, and Interview.

XIMB PhD Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in a relevant subject.
  • Candidates with a 4 years Bachelor’s Degree should have a minimum 7.5 CGPA or equivalent.
  • A 5% relaxation of marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC / ST categories.

XIMB PhD Selection Process

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic records. The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for XBAT, followed by a Research Presentation, and Personal Interview.
  • Candidates who have qualified for UGC NET (Category-1: JRF) will be exempted from XBAT. However, they have to take part in Research Presentations and Personal Interviews.
  • Candidates qualified in UGC NET (Category-2: Assistant Professor) and Category-3: Admission to Ph.D.) may apply for XBAT to become eligible for a University Scholarship based on merit. These candidates are required to take part in the other selection processes as listed above.

XIMB PhD (Part-Time) Key Points

  • The employed candidate must submit a NOC obtained from an appropriate authority in the organization, where the candidate is employed, clearly stating that:
    • The candidate is permitted to pursue studies on a Part-Time basis.
    • His / Her official duties permit him / her to devote sufficient time to research.
    • He / she will be relieved from the duty to complete the coursework.
    • The NOC needs to clearly state the above points and needs to be on the organization's letterhead and signed by the appropriate authority. The contact details of the organization need to be furnished on the letterhead.
  • The candidates who are not employed anywhere should submit a self-declaration clearly stating that he / she will not join any organization for employment during the course of study without prior intimation and approval from the concerned authority. In case he / she joins any organization while pursuing the doctoral program, he/she needs to submit the NOC from the appropriate authority of the new organization, at the time of joining the organization, failing which the studentship will be canceled.

XIMB PhD Entrance Exam Details

XRAT is the Research Aptitude Test conducted by XIM University Bhubaneswar, the details of the same is mentioned below:

  • The test consists of four sections.
  • The test is of 100 marks and the total time allocated is 3 hours.
  • The questions are a mix of subjective and objective types.
  • Sectional cut-offs are used for these four sections as decided by the University.

XIMB PhD Scholarship

  • The recipients of the University scholarship are determined by a merit list generated from the admission results.
  • The deserving candidates will be granted the University scholarship of INR 30,000 per month upon joining the program, subject to the condition that they are not the recipient of any other financial support from the course.
  • The scholarship will be provided for a duration of 4 years from doctoral registration guided.
  • Those who do not qualify for the University scholarship will receive a full tuition fee waiver.
