TNEA 2023 Tie-Breaking Policy

When there are many candidates with the same scores in the qualifying examinations for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), certain rules are followed to resolve any confusion during the admissions process. Here are the steps followed to break the tie in TNEA 2023:

• The candidate with a higher percentage in Mathematics will be given a higher rank if there is a tie.
• If the tie still exists, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in Physics will be ranked higher.
• If the tie persists, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in the optional (fourth) subject will be given a higher rank.
• If the tie continues, the date of birth of the candidates will be considered, giving priority to the candidate who is older in age.
• If the tie remains unresolved, the authorities will use the TNEA random number 2023 to break the tie. The candidate with a higher random number will be given preference.
