Allahabad University has notified  CUET marks are not required for admissions to colleges affiliated to it for the 2024-2025 academic session. Your admission will now be based on intermediate merit. 

The University Admission Cell of Allahabad University has released new guidelines for candidates who did not sit for CUET UG 2024. As per the guideline, you can sit for admissions to AU colleges directly. One of the main reasons for deviating from admissions solely via CUET UG is due to the large number of vacant seats in colleges. Allahabad University has been accepting Undergraduate Admissions through CUET since 2021. While the campus seats were being filled, around 50-60% of seats remained vacant last year in affiliated colleges. 

Now, AU will admit students without CUET scores if seats remain vacant, while priority will still be given to candidates with CUET UG scores. In case, seats remain vacant then intermediate marks of candidates will be considered to fill the seats. 

Allahabad University New Guidelines for Admission

Allahabad University has also streamlined the process of admission to make it easier for the candidates. Now, candidates will only need to register once for the University and colleges unlike before when separate registrations and fees were required. Prof. JK Pati, Director of AU Admission Cell, confirmed that admissions to varsity campuses will be given via CUET scores. In case a student has registered for the University and has not been admitted then he/she will be notified. If you aren't admitted to the university, you'll be notified and won't need to re-register for colleges. In case there are vacancies then your intermediate marks will be considered.
