University may do extra allocations in the initial rounds of allocation to minimise the counselling rounds. CSAS Counselling 2026 Seat Allocation Rounds

CSAS counselling is conducted in multiple rounds to fill all the vacant seats in DU and affiliated colleges. Counselling rounds include initial, mid-entry, and spot rounds.

• Initial Rounds: Initial rounds comprise 3-4 counselling sessions, during which students are allocated seats based on CUET scores, preference order, and seat availability.

CSAS UG Seat Acceptance

Freeze vs Upgrade Option in CSAS Counselling 2026

Upgrade: All admitted students will be allowed to opt for Upgrade or Freeze the allocated seat.

• If a candidate opts to upgrade the seat, he/she will be allowed to upgrade to a higher preference where the candidate has taken admission.
• Candidates choosing the “Upgrade” option can reorder the preferences (course + college combinations).

CSAS UG 2026: Tie Breaking Rules

In case two or more students have the same CUET UG score for any “Program+College” combination, the below-listed rules will be applied to break the tie.

• Student with higher percentage of aggregate marks in Best 3 subjects in class 12 will be preferred.
• Student with higher percentage of aggregate marks in Best 4 subjects in Class 12 will be preferred.
• Student with higher percentage of aggregate marks in Best 5 subjects in Class 12 will be preferred.
• Preference will be given to student having an earlier DOB than the other one mentioned in the Class 10 certificate.
• Student with higher marks percentage in Class 10 will be preferred.
