What's New in CUET 2026?
CUET UG seat matrix is released by universities on their respective admission portals. For each university, CUET seat matrix 2026 will be available after the CEUT UG admission process starts.

As per the NTA official website, a total of 243 universities and government institutions offer admissions based on CUET UG scores.
- AMU, BHU, JMI, and other 46 Central universities offer around 150000+ seats for admissions based on CUET scores.
- 40000+ seats are available for admissions in 40 state universities including AKTU, Delhi Technological University, GGSIPU, etc.
- Private universities offer around 90000+ seats; deemed universities and other government institutions offer more than 30000 seats for CUET UG score based admissions.

CUET UG Seat Matrix 2026: Reservation Criteria
Universities follow the reservation criteria prescribed by the Government of India for admission to their UG courses based on CUET scores.
- 27% seats are for the OBC category in each participating university.
- For Sc category, 15% seats are reserved, and for the ST category, 7.5% seats are reserved.
- EWS candidates get 10% seats reserved in participating universities.
- For PWD candidates. 5% seats are reserved from each category.

CUET UG seat matrix directly affects the admission chances. Universities allocate seats based on the CUET score, reservation criteria and number of available seats.

- Fewer seats increase competition among students, which drives up the cutoff marks.
- Courses with higher demand fill quickly, creating higher cutoffs, as cutoffs are determined based on the number of available seats and total applicants.

CUET UG 2026 Seat Allotment Process
Step 1: University Registration: Once registration starts, fill out the registration form on the official website of respective universities.
Step 2: Preference Filling: Fill out the preference for college and course based on your subjects.
Step 3: Merit List Preparation: Universities will release merit lists on their respective official websites.

Normalised score or normalization of score in CUET refers to a technique to compare applicant scores uniformly across test sessions. This process is necessary to keep CUET(conducted over multiple days and sessions with various sets of questions) fair to all test-takers.
For this purpose, CUET scores are given in percentiles rather than raw scores. A percentile score of 95, for instance, means that 95% of the applicants performed at a level that was lower or equal to that of the candidate.
Also note that CUET UG Retest 2024 was held on July 19, for the candidates who have been affected by the CBT mode issue and lodged a complaint within July 9. You can expect that the final percentiles and results will be normalised to ensure fairness.
