What's New in CUET 2026?
The NTA has released the CUET 2025 Computer Science Syllabus on the official website. The CUET 2025 exam is expected to be scheduled in the second week of May 2025. The CUET 2025 Computer Science paper is divided into 3 sections:
- Section A (15 questions)
- Section B1 and Section B2 (35 questions)
The CUET exam will consist of 50 mandatory questions, to be attempted within the duration of 60 minutes. All the questions are MCQs, +5 is awarded for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer. Approximately 75% of the questions are directly or indirectly from the class 11th and 12th NCERT Computer science textbooks.

Focusing on high weightage topics can help in optimizing your performance in the exam. Each chapter has a set number of questions being asked in the exam, this determines the overall weightage of the chapter in the question paper. This gives an idea to the students about which chapters are important for them to prioritize.
High Weightage Chapters: Networking and SQL (10 - 12 questions 22% weightage) These two topics have the highest number of questions in the exam. Networking focuses on topics like TCP/IP, protocol and cybersecurity whereas SQL focuses on topics such as database management and queries.
Moderate Weightage Chapters: Bubble Sorting ( 5 - 6 questions, 11%) Assertion Reasoning, Code Completion and Database Concepts (3 - 4 question each, 7% each). These topics test logical reasoning, debugging skills and a detailed understanding of databases.
Low Weightage Chapters: Exception and File Handling in Python, Data Handling using Pandas - I and Data Communication (2 - 3 questions, 5%). These chapters may carry a low number of questions but they are essential in optimizing the overall score.

CUET Computer Science Syllabus 2025 Exam Pattern

Normalised score or normalization of score in CUET refers to a technique to compare applicant scores uniformly across test sessions. This process is necessary to keep CUET(conducted over multiple days and sessions with various sets of questions) fair to all test-takers.
For this purpose, CUET scores are given in percentiles rather than raw scores. A percentile score of 95, for instance, means that 95% of the applicants performed at a level that was lower or equal to that of the candidate.
Also note that CUET UG Retest 2024 was held on July 19, for the candidates who have been affected by the CBT mode issue and lodged a complaint within July 9. You can expect that the final percentiles and results will be normalised to ensure fairness.
