St John's is one of the most reputed medical colleges in India. Here everything is student centric and the teachers are also very supportive. The admission is through NEET. The cutoff for my batch was around 490. I took a drop year to prepare for neet.
The course curriculum is veey organised and prepares the student to become a doctor in the real world very efficiently. 1st year is spent on studying the normal body. From 2nd year we start clinics which allows us to see the patient and take classes at the hospital. The exams were timely. There are 2 internals and 1 prelims before the university exam.
After final year, every student has to do 1 year internship in which they rotate between departments and gain clinical exposure required to become a doctor. The salary is about 15000 per month. You assist doctors in the opd and wards.
We have to serve in underprivileged areas for 2 years as bond to the college after which we attempt the pg exam. There is no campus placements for a medical college. I intend to try for neet pg after the bond is completed.
For me, the first year fees was 7.25L and from 2nd year to final year 6.85 L however there is a 10%increment in fees for every new batch. i.e the fees of the 23 batch is 10 percent higher than the 22 batch. Hostel fees along with mess is 1,14,000. There are scholarships based on academic ability in the college.
The college fest is Autumn Muse held in September. It is one of the biggest fests in south india. The central library hosts all the books you could ever need to study. There is also a reading room in the college. There are multiple student clibs spanning a variety of subjects including Literature and theatre.
The rooms for boys are single and girls occupy double rooms. Boys hostel is situated across the road and girls hostel is in the main campus. The food is slightly below average. Hostel with mess fees is about 1,14,000 per year. It is less for girls.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
