St John is one of the top med schools in India. It was my dream to be admitted to St John's. The best faculties and high patient load with good exposure is every med student's dream and St Johns made it come true as well. There were no extra interviews or written tests apart from the NEET exam.
The curriculum is set by NMC and the college follows it in the best way possible. All students are provided the opportunity to do some research since Johns is a leading Research institute in India. Some flagship programs including the Rural Orientation Program are part of the curriculum that sensitizes young individuals to the hardships of finding med care in rural India. Various Institutional scholarships are available on Merit Cum Means basis as well.
Post MBBS you are supposed to do a compulsory rural bond which is allotted based on your marks scored during UG University exams. This everyone will be placed in some hospitals or other post completion of course.
Multiple study halls and a well-set library are available for students. A skills labs facility is available. The intercollege fest Autumn Muse is an exquisite fest to witness Various other sports meets and cultural events are conducted throughout the year.
The hostel facility is quite nice. Lately, new hostels have been built for the students both UG and PG. The quality of food provided is okay. You will get a hostel facility if you want to. Students from other states are given preference but over time you'll get a seat regardless of your domicile.
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
