I chose this college because it was the best i could get at my JEE rank. The process is quite simple and mostly online as you just need to have a decent rank in JEE and have the required documents. Yeah no exam from the college or any interview. The admission is done via the UTU counselling on there website, and later you just need to go once for your document verification in person to the college. After which you will just need to pack your bags and arrive, choose your hostel room and moving in.
I chose Electrical Engineering as my course because, It was the one of the core branches and with the most evergreen future in todays AI revolution. The faculty is good enough, it depends on the teacher as everyone teaches in there own way. You will have to put a lot of work from your side if you wanna score good. Getting passed is easy but scoring high is hard. If you are regular and hardworking than you will get by easily. I a semester, you have 2 Class tests (CTs) and the semester examinations at last. The exams are not difficult if don't mind studying regularly (or crunching hard in last days).
There are internships from as soon as 2nd year, but they are not paid and often require a application fee. I have not taken any but I know the people who have. The internships are both online and offline. I would recommend working on a project instead and learn required skills and gain experience in the field of choice.
Placements are present. Though they are not many. Averaging around 4-6 LPA. Recruiters come from TATA, BEL, TCS, etc. The packages are not the same every year, sometimes they range in 4-6 lakhs but recently from 2024 there have been good placements going upto 12 LPA. It is on you though I wouldn't bet on the college placements for a job and look for off campus and work on my skills for them.
GBPIET (previously GBPEC) is a government college so the fees is a lot more affordable than the private colleges. Fee Structure is as follows: Tuition fee: 32,280 (3,7980 for 1st sem and 31,035 for upcoming odd semesters i.e. semester 3rd, 5th and 7th) Mess and hostel fee: 16,000+1,980 (2,480 hostel fee for odd semesters) This makes your per semester fee to be a total of 50,260 for even semesters and 49,515 for odd semesters. Totalling to about 1 lakh (99,775 to be exact) per year and 4 lakh for your complete 4 yr (8 semester) course of B. Tech. You can skip the hostel and mess fee if you live nearby and be a day scholar instead. For scholarships the college provides scholarships based on merit and if you belong to minority. You can check and apply using the National Scholarship Portal if you are eligible.
Campus life is fun if you make it so. If you are interested in getting out, going on stage, or showing off skills on the ground than its all there. We have a bunch of fests like Footloose, Josh, everyone's favorite GOONJ, and a lot more at regular intervals, something for everyone. All the books you need for studying are available at the college library, with no charge too, you just issue them on your name using the Library card you get. Sports are the life of one's youth. There are a lot of sports played like football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, etc. If you like sports you will not be disappointed.
I live in a hostel. It has all you need basically, nothing more and nothing less. You pay a 36,460 per year for hostel and mess, which is quite affordable. You have a room you share with 3 to 4 roomates, for a year and then change into another hostel. Every hostel has a mess where you are served food at fixed intervals: 8-9:00am Breakfast 1-2:00pm Lunch 5-6:00pm Snacks 9-10:00pm Dinner For facilities lets start with your rooms. You get a Cupboard, table and chair and a bed frame where you sleep. in the room everyone has lights, electric sockets for themselves. But you get no fans, although you will be in the hills so you won't be needing them a lot. Food is decent, hostel dwellers decide the menu for the mess, so that is that. Sometimes its good other times not. That is where the nearby shops and college canteen comes in. You can eat out and even order stuff and get it delivered to your hostels. Just don't expect Dominos or KFCs.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
