The main reason why i chose this college is the lack of academic burden and pressure that they put on their students. For my admission i had to pass the written exams called JET conducted by the university followed by a personal interview. The exam was fair with questions ranging from easy to difficult with considerable difficulty level. The personal interview is also easy given that you have enough knowledge about you subject. i believe the cut off percentage for the university is 40%. To prepare for the exam, you can go through your basic 12th grade learning materials and a little bit of grammar. The think both the positive and negative side of the campus is that its situated in the city. while its good to have all the essential stores, malls, theatres and cute cafe's and places to hang out if your looking for a typical campus life with a lot of space and plants and nature, you are going to be disappointed.
i chose this course because of the specific combination of the subjects. Most of the faculty hold a PhD in their respective fields while the others are either people with good experience or pursuing their PhD while teaching. All of the faculty know what they are doing and conduct their classes well. Another quality i have noticed is that they actually want us to learn well and is always there if we need any assistance. As for the exams, there are 2 written exams, the pre finals and end semester exams. The total marks is out of 100 where 50 is for the final exams and the another 50 is for the internal assessments (IA). There are mainly 3 IA where one will be an individual project and the other two will be group projects. Each IA carries 10 marks. Attendance and class participation contributes to 10 mark(5 each). The rest 10 marks is for the pre finals. (pre finals are marked out of 50, the scores is tallied to 10). If you have a basic understanding of classes it is easy to pass.
The average package of placements at Jain 4,00,000 per annum. i am not aware of the number of offers made. My future plans after graduation is mainly to pursue further academic pursuits. As far as i know the placement chances for humanities students is less compared to other departments.
yearly one has to 1,50,000 yearly for BA in psychology journalism and English. In first year along with the fees you have to pay a registration fees of 20,000 more. As for the fees payment students are provided with three types of payment. 1. the fees can be paid in full amount at the start of the year. 2, it can be paid in two installments where half should be paid first and the other half has to be paid later. 3, Students can avail the Liquiloan services where you have to pay the fess in 8 installments with 0% interest. To avail these services the representatives both the university and the company will help you. Other than this fees, the only additional fees is the examination fees at each semester end. It starts from 1000 and may increase or decrease according to the number of papers you have to write. The fees for international students is above 2,00,000 . As far as my knowledge goes there are no scholarships other than sports.
There is mainly 1 fest called Anveshna for freshers. Various other programs are conducted throughout the year by different clubs where small stalls are put up and is usually followed by a flash mob. There are various clubs run by different departs for their subjects like psychology, sociology, economics, literature, journalism etc. There is also a NSS unit at the campus as well. the university has a sports forum where athletes are given the opportunity to participate at different events. The campus has an extensive library stocked with many referral books for various subjects, it has all the important newspapers and educational magazines in stock as well. The library is a perfect place to focus on your work without disturbances. If you want to surf through internet or work you can use the computers present as well. Each classroom is well equipped with smart board and WiFi connection. some are even air conditioned. They are well maintained and kept clean.
I have not opted for the hostel however from friends i know that the students are given breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks at evening. The lunch is delivered to the campus at time where they can have it after showing their meal card. The menu for each day is forwarded to them earlier so they can sign up to eat the food. The quality of the food is below average from south Indian point of view, not sure about the north though. The rooms are well maintained and tidy. Students can use bus service for commute between campus and hostel. The hostel is expensive with fees around 1,50,000 an year. I rented a pg near campus at Jaynagar 9th block just 3 crosses away from campus. if you can find a pg i think its much better.
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
