I was preparing for MBBS but I couldn't clear the cutoff. While preparing for MBBS I have also filled the entrance exam form for this university. Veterinary is my second preference after MBBS. So yeah this is how I landed here. The syllabus for the entrance exam is same as Neet exam. But one thing that exam is for uttrakhand students. For students outside uttrakhand the have to get paid seats which are way more expensive.
First year has 3 subjects- physiology, anatomy, and livestock production management Similarly 2nd year has 5subjects And 3rd year has 7 subjects 4th year has 3 subjects but there is a lot of clinical work And the 5th year Is year of internship. This is a 5.5year long course. The internship is paid and students get around 10k per month.
As I am a first year student I am not eligible to answer this but many of oue seniors have cleared the exams and have become a VO in the state govt. They have to work in villages and to treat the animals of the villagers. The job is not as much as hectic as a medical officer. But still it is difficult.
After completing the course a student and give exams and become a veterinary officer or he/she can continue to do masters. They can also join any private company which deals with animals. The students can also open their own clinic as they are registered veterinary doctor and can make a handsome amount of money.
It includes Approx 70k tution fees 40k hostel fees And the rest is room rent ,electercity, medical, internet etc The amount given as internet fees is for hostel wifi and a Central computing facility which is for all the students. In ccf everyone is provided a computer is i7 and 16 gb ram and unlimited internet. The place is fully air conditioned. The University library is also good place to study or to rent books from.
There are a lot of clubs in our university like entrepreneurship club, sports club , dance and singing club and college has a seperate society called kaizen vet society which is responsible for all the activities of the college. Like vet night ,any farewell, competition, quizzes, debates, parties etc
Hostels are quite old and rooms are a bit small. In first year you will get a triple sharing room. Our hostel has a small library to study a common room badminton and basket ball court volleyball ground and much more. Food is average. But there is no backup light source. So I recommend to get a powerbank before getting here.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
