I did not undergo any Group discussions, interviews or written tests. I took admission in this college because my elder brother also completed his graduation from BTech in CSE from the same college, that too with flying colours. As a result, my parents thought why not admit me to this same college because it was reputed at the time with tons of placements, aftermath of which I would face as I passed the years in it. Admission process was simple, you had to enter in the admission cell which was situated at the corner most turn of the Btech Auditorium. There you would have to ask around for admission forms and pamphlets if you would want to have a much better look at what GEU is/was all about. Then you would have to fill it up, submit a photocopy of your 10th and 12th marksheet so they would get an idea of your academic background. I had applied for BTech in CSE.. same as my elder brother.. only to get rejected later on because I got less than the required marks / percentage for CSE.
The faculty were well renowned and reputed not only in GEU itself but also with other colleges. Every faculty had his/her method of interacting with the students. The term exams had no issues with the timings but the difficulty level was somewhere either below expectations or higher than expectations. Reason being the possibility of getting the paper made from outside sources.
Eligibility criteria for placements was simple . No backlogs and the rest depended on how well you perform in GDs and interviews, if the respective company had either or both. Highest package was INR 50 lakhs and the average package was INR 7.23 lakhs. Sadly, I missed out on college placements and opportunities given to me by the faculty because I prioritised fun and games over studies, a decision which I regret to this day. My current plans are to get to government job, for which I am pursuing self studies and aiming for Bank PO and SSC CGL both.
My overall Btech was estimated to be completed with a fee of INR 1 lakh. 1st Year Fees : INR 110,900 including provisional admission fees for 1st semester and scholaarship amount. 2nd Year Fees : INR 116,025 including back paper for 3 subjects ( INR 1000) each. 3rd Year Fees : INR 101,948 including supplementary exam fees for 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters respectively ( INR 1000 each ). Fees paid for 4th/Final Year : INR 127,148 including the library books fine ( 4 books and a total of INR 400 for each book ). As for my batchmates, I had friends from General Category and their fees was variable but stuck around INR 110,058 ( no supplementary or back papers ).
The most anticipated and most awaited college fest was and still is THE GRAFEST. This fest is a popular festival that features technical events, dancing, singing and celebrity performances. It attracts more than 20,000 from all over the STATE. College library was not too good but at the same time not too bad either. Former being due to the students making it a dating site rather than studying. Of course there were students that went there solely to study because it was a LIBRARY. But at the same time other students, mostly senior students went there to do this and that. Latter being because the library was so vast and filled with tons and tons of books that you could imagine and think of. Classrooms were quite spacious and for me personally, they were SPACIOUS because I had the habit of sitting in tiny school classrooms. So this sudden change of walls, doors, windows, AC ventilation, projectors and last but not the least, the smart board.. took me with surprise.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
