SIMS is an institution know for their excellence all admission are purely based on merit. Apart from IMU CET exam, applicants have to clear the entrance exam conducted by SIMS followed by their interview, psychometric analysis and medical fitness exam The Cut off for SIMS entrance is 60% All applicants should have secured 70% in PCM in their 12th board
Course Curriculum Overview :
Nautical Science being a difficult course time and effort is needed to be put into, the curriculum includes both academic and practical classes. The trademark of SIMS is quality, the SIMS faculty are all innthe Rank of Master/Captian to the provide the students with a real time knowledge sharing their experience while they were at sea, giving the students a clear picture The SIMS will have a montly test a midterm and a pre-final exam to prepare the students for the final semester exam all the SIMS exam have a passing perecentage of 60% which mean the the time and efforts used for studying must be highly efficient. SIMS makes quality Sailors therefore the exams are of a higher level question, gives a challenge for the students preparing them for being a disciplined officer.
Placement Experience :
The Saumdra has a 100% placement policy. All the students of SIMS are sponsored by Executive Ship management. As an Alumini of SIMS proud to say no one in SIMS have ever gone jobless of without placement. All the SIMS are Alumini are officers of Saling on ESM ships.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The course Fee is a Sum of 771000 rupees, which includes admission fee of 50000 rupees a caution fee 15000 hostel fee of 100000 per semester. The fees include your uniform study material and exam fee, Fee for the extra requirmental course of STCW and watchkeeping. In short you wont need to pay anything extra once the course is started
Campus Life :
Samundra Being a Maritime academy the life is strict and disciplined, for making boys into officers. The SIMS library is a temple of knowledge, all the latest editon books and journals are available in yhe library including the noteable works of the SIMS alumini dor reference for the students at samundra. Samundra has an entire sector of their campus dedicated to sports including a badminton court, tennis court, basketball court, volley ball court, table tennis and a football ground. Every month there will be interhouse competition on an intellectual level as well as sports, sa series of debates, group dicussions Quizs is conducted.
Hostel Facilities :
SIMS provide a state of the art hostel for its studnets well equiped with a 24/7 wifi for every room, all rooms have an attached bathroom with hot water 24/7 all the hostel lobbies have are equiped table tennis for students to blow off their steam. Each room will have 3 residents and 3 cupboards for each and 3 induvidual tables for each. The SIMS Cafeteria is of international standards the food menu have a diatery specialist so that the students remain healthy at their best.

Placement Experience :
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track

Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.

The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

And not practical learning provided.
