Does IIT Dharwad give the feel of an IIT

- I like the infrastructure design and the way it was designed.
- The faculty was extraordinary and they have lots of knowledge.
Dislikes
- I did not like the campus life here as there are very few events.
- The mess food is also disliked by me but the menu is good only.
Remarks :
I was enrolled in computer science and engineering and as the field is rapidly growing. There is a huge demand for CSE in IIT Dharwad and as i was interested to pursue only CSE i joined in IIT Dharwad according to my rank. I just wrote jee mains and jee advance and applied for josaa and landed in CSE IIT Dharwad. The college has very extraordinary faculty in CSE Department and it has very less lecture hours per week and it gives students more time to learn on their own. Maybe the bad aspects could be like the mess food is average and there are very less events being conducted here when compared to other iits. The admission process is like after qualifying in jee advanced we need to apply for josaa and after the seat allotment process we need to appear for both online and physical registration after which our admission is done. The cut off for CSE ews is like around 900's and i consulted advice from many people and my school helped me to do choice filling in josaa.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I think the curriculum is on par with the emerging technologies and provides industry ready skills. The academics and faculty are extraordinary here. I chose this course since it is rapidly growing and i was interested in AI/ML. Almost all the faculty here are also top IIT's graduates and they teach very clearly such that everyone can understand. Exams will be around every months in a period of four months over a semester.We have quiz 1,mid sem, quiz 2,end sem exams. The exam difficulty level is moderate and sometimes tough since it is an iit.
Internships Opportunities :
Since I was a first year student still I did not opt for any intership as still i should learn some skills. They publish research papers and do lots of research. Paid internships from top companies like MAANG do come for on campus internships here
Placement Experience :
Campus placements are being offered here. Approximately 53 out of 200 registered were placed and still the placement drive is going on and some people webt for higher studies. Different companies put certain cpi as their eligibility criteria. Google, meta and Amazon like top companies visit IIT Dharwad and the highest package went to even 1 crore per annum but in this year it was 48lpa. Almost 30-40%students are being placed here. The plan after getting degree is to get experience by job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearly we have to pay for two semesters separately. First semester will cost you nearly 1,58,000 which include some one time payment fees and the further semesters costs you around 1,50,000.It includes a tution fee of 1,00,000 and if the enrolled student is a foreigner he should pay a tutuion fee of 3,00,000.Sc ans St students are given full tution fee remission. Other students who have a income below 2.5 lakhs can apply for scholarships. There are scholarships like merit cum means, Sc St scholarship. Merit cum means gives tutuion fee remissions based on their family income and St, Sc scholarships are provided for free messing. Merit scholarship has a criterion for selection. The student should score above 6 CGPA to avail that benefit.
Campus Life :
Campus life is moderate. Not frequently fests are conducted. Basically in August freshers and E-summit will be conducted and harshtal event in September and in January again E summit will be conducted. Library is excellent in IIT dharwad and it is very spacious. There are lots of physical books and also e books available in library and classroom are built over a new design and they are very good looking and also spacious. Extra curricular activities are good here and there are many sports clubs too to encourage students. Inter IIT selections and NSO type sports activities also takes place here. There are many clubs like finance, data science, ai, cricket and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel was really good. Since it is a new built campus. The infrastructure is quite good looking and mess was average and after registration they provide hostel rooms since we should only stay in hostel unless it is an emergency situation and considered by the deans. I stay in hostel 1 block in iit dharwad itself. The menu was good but the quality of food was average.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
BSc Physics at Jain University
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
