- Absence of outdoor sports grounds for cricket, football etc.
- Lack of decent transport that affect connectivity with the city.
Remarks :
The only criteria to enter IIT Dharwad is to get a good rank in JEE Advance. Also you can entered with a low rank. The facilities are good as compared to being a newer IIT. the college is in development and will shine in future. The Hostel, mess, library, gymkhana are very good but i personally don't like the absence of outdoor sports grounds.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties are highly qualified and have deep interest in their subjects and teaching. The curriculum is good but can be improved with adding more practical courses and relative courses in the respective branches. the total of 4 exams including one Mid semester and one End semester exams is conducted every semester. The courses needs to be more efficient in making a student industry ready in my opinion.
Internships Opportunities :
As i am a first year student i didn't apply for any internship but there are many internship facilities available that you can apply either inside or outside the college. You can work under professors, companies and many more.
Placement Experience :
The college contains the committee called as Career Development Cell(CDC) that accounts for placement and internships provided to students. The placement data is only available for branches like mechanical, computer science and electrical as they are the oldest branches and not for newer branches like civil and chemical because they started in 2022. The average package is about 16 lakhs per annum and about 70 percent students placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees is about 3 lakhs per year which is same for all students irrespective of branches but may be different for different years. Tuition fees is 2 lakhs per year which can be waived off for students in OBC,EWS,ST,SC category and for GENERAL having parental income less than 7 lakhs. Hostel and mess fees are about 45000-50000 per year and the remaining accounts for management, deposits and other facilities.
Campus Life :
The life at campus is very pleasant and enjoyable with many fests, events, competition and festivals organized every year. The library is best place for studying with having two floors operational with one having lot of books and one is self study center. the absence of outdoor sports grounds is the thing i doesn't liked but there are indoor sports facilities like gymkhana, badminton, and squash courts.
Hostel Facilities :
Each and every student need to accommodate in hostel. there is no permission to stay in other hostels and flats. Food quality is decent and canteen is also good. As you register for a course the hostel is allotted to you. each room accommodate four students from different branches.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary
