The college has good reputation for high patient inflow which is considered good for studying mbbs. Academically this is a very good college for its lectures and clinical exposure. It is one of the top colleges of the Maharshtra state and Mumbai.
Course and Curriculum is according to Maharashtra University of Heath Sciences (MUHS.) Teaching faculty is good and qualified. For mbbs there is also clinical experience needed which is given through clinical postings starting from second year, in which students are posted between all the departments in hospital in rotations.
Internship of one year is compulsory for the degree. For which stipend of 18000 per month is given. In Internship students are made aware of the hospital responsibilities and work to be done in hospitals.
Degree is given after the compulsory internship of one year at the same college. After which there is bond of 1 year which can be completed later if you wish to do postgraduation. According to bond you have to serve in rural or government hospital as medical officer.
Fees for open category students is around 1 Lakh per year while students with reservation have quite less fees per year ranging from 5k to 10k per month but you have to get your scholarship form approved every year without missing it
Campus is not so good. Half of it is under construction and other half is too crowded with the high patient inflow. There are no outdoor sports ground and being in very crowded area of mumbai there isn't much space for anything. Indoor sports room is there with pool table, caroom, table tennis etc.
Hostels are very crowded. First year students don't get the hostel, they have to rent a flat or pg for which rent is quite high. Hostel is alloted in second year. There isn't a mess but there is canteen which is quite mediocre, but private dabbewalas are there. Location is 5min walking from college.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
