There are no entrance exams for this institute, for b.com even your board score doesn't matter much. Since there are more than 1300 B.Com students, it is safe to assume any candidate who has passed the boards will get a seat if they can afford it. The admission authority seems to be indifferent towards the score. The fees seem quite high for B.com if it is compared with other Mumbai University Colleges, which may be a disadvantage to many. But this institute has great infrastructure, clean classes and good faculties who are actively engaged with the students. Each and every faculty knows their student well and a personal touch is maintained. Professors rarely take a leave.
I heard that the faculty and the Infrastructure in the college are much better so I enrolled, and they were right. The teaching methods were good and kept it interactive. Questions were asked by the students and the faculties. Most of the faculties had sound qualifications, had a degree in teaching and masters in their subjects. Many were also PHD holders. My class teacher in TYBCOM was pursuing PHD and later received it. Exams were conducted in an ordinary manner twice a year. Since the college is autonomous the papers were set and checked by the college authorities. Papers were relatively easy.
The college has a placement cell, students shall register if they want to avail the facilities. Barclays, HDFC Bank and many MNCs have inducted students for placement across fields. But it's important to note that general packages for B.Com freshers are Rs. 20000 to 35000. Since I was my class topper and subject topper in two subjects in the batch, I received sound packages but I wished to pursue law and attempted MHCET Law entrance test wherein I got into Government Law College Mumbai. The placements offered by the college are decent. While the placements are not high, there are plenty opportunities,
The college fees would be largely unchanged and will not rise drastically. But another noteworthy point is, while taking admission into the first year one has to pay more fees if they are from a different board [Other than HSC]. Migration fees of Mumbai university would be applicable.
Taarangan is the annual fest of the college usually in the month of November- December. Stalls are erected behind the college which are run by students. Various Bollywood Celebs come to promote their projects. During my time, a Russian DJ Duo rocked the stage. The college library is huge and resourceful, one can get various books on diverse subjects. Sports are quite active in the college, many students are enrolled in National/International Sports events. There are many student-run clubs but most of them are significantly inactive except NSS and NCC. A lack of literary and allied clubs is evident.
The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
The placement and job opportunities in college is good the MOU's signed by company are good almost 40-50% of college gets placement remaining go for off campus placements there are companies like TCS , Accenture etc
Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown, people are more focused on mental health, thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.
