My Honest opinion on Marian College.

Remarks :
The reason why i choose this college is because of high reputation this college has among others. i was planning to do BA in Journalism at the beginning but in Marian they also have a triple main course which also includes English and Communication. Also the climate and location of the college closed further room for discussion and i fixed my opinion to pursue my bachelors over here. Kuttikanam is an hill station located in peermade panchayat of idukki district. located 3000 feet above sea level it is quite cold and misty out here during the monsoon and autumn season .There were not any test or any discussion as such , just a formal interview with one of the faculties and that was it. But you need to have at least 65% and above in your 12th, now as bad aspects like what is bad for me isn't bad for someone else, it all depends on perspective's of people, But since it is an autonomous college it is a bit strict like every other college . The best part it is a Ragging free Campus.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Course Curriculum, Academics and Faculties and everthing are on point and everthing perfectly balanced with each other. My teachers are really great human beings and super friendly that with almost everyone we have a bond like with our best friends like one time our HOD took us to our canteen and bought us snacks and coffee for the entire class just for conducting a good fest. Coming on about our curriculum it is about three main of English ,Communication and Journalism and honestly i have great understanding of all three of it now as curriculum and syallbus are put together and taught in a systematic manner and also huge credits goes to our highly qualified teachers. Exams and everthing are on time as it is an autonomous college and course is not exactly 3 years but only 2 yeras and 8 months, yes it is really fast over here. Difficulty level is not high . moderate i would say.
Internships Opportunities :
Students can work in companies of their choice for a month. Almost each and every department provides internships for their in order for them to get workplace experience at the best. Stipend was not offered for our internships and it is quite rare you get a paid internship no matter whatever your background is. i did my internship at Asianet news bureau for one month and it helped in understanding and getting a lot of experiences about my course and nature of job that i am going to later build my career on it.
Placement Experience :
There are organized & proactive placement process for each and every departments and top companies and banks comes in order to recruit prolific candidates. The criteria is simple , you need to have at least 60% combined in all of previous semester's. a good conduct certificate is also a must along with valid documents such as pan card, bank account. Federal bank, HDFC bank, Deloitte, Accenture, TCS , EY, etc. All of them offers around 3L to 6L based on job and course. The highest offered was last year*(23-24), KPMG with package of 6.2L per annum. percentage of students getting placements are quite good and at least 60-65% of them gets placed. My plan is also similar to get placed and later after getting some quality experience , going to do masters in abroad.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees is around 50k and apart from that i am also staying in the college hostel , i have to pay an hostel fees of around 75k for an year (includes room rent(yearly), mess fees (monthly) , laundry (yearly),etc.) so in total the tuition fees and hostel fees sums up to a total amount of 1,25,000. This is the maximum amount of fees you can except in an year and if you are not staying in hostel for UG students. For PG students you can except somewhere between 90k to 1 kakh a year. Now another major fees that you have to at beginning is the admission fees which comes around 25000 to 50000 for management quota. If you are looking for aided seat then based on it you can pay as low as less than 5k or maybe no fees at all. Aided students can enjoy maximum benefits and you will only have to spend maybe 10k for students on merit and fees are way less for SC,ST. Their are plenty of scholarships and amounts are really good like you may get around 1.5L TO 2.5L or even more.
Campus Life :
Campus life at Marian is really superb and i have to admit they do really well with programs. There is lot of programs each and every month and are conducted by the council and various clubs. The main programs and celebrations are Onam(SEPT) , Christmas(DEC) , Freshers(JUN), Ethnic day(FEB), College fest(JAN) , Kerala piravi(NOV) ,etc. are the main ones. The library is equipped with wide range of books and it is equipped with books of everyone's preference. Multiple sports facilities with experienced coaches. Gyms, Aerobic club, kickboxing, martial arts, and various other sports amenities. Also there are co-curicular clubs in college and there are various social groups run by students and alumni. Marian trolls is a popular meme page run by the alumni of the college.
Hostel Facilities :
Mess food and cooking are really hygienic even though sometimes it is not that great. food variety is there but sometimes quality at rare instance, quality is compromised. The menu is good with availability of chicken on four days consecutive for dinner and fish for everyday except Friday for lunch. overall the food is not that bad and its good for the amount of fees we pay and comparatively better than most of the hostels in other states. Hostel registration is bit difficult as if you don't register before the beginning of the academic year then you may not get later as rooms may fill up faster. Staying in PG or in a room is not permitted by college at any reason and if you want to then stay at your own risk.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty

Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
