St. Joseph's University is a very reputed college. Firstly, I was a neet aspirant and I took a drop in the previous year. Due to high cut off and conspiracy, I could not chase my dream of being a doctor and MBBS Management fees is too high which varies from lakhs to crores and I didnt want to pressurize my family for it. But since I am from a science background from the start, I wanted a course in Science field. My family doctor suggested the subjects, course and this college. For the course I had chosen, there was no written exam for admission. There was an interview after my name was shortlisted. The interview was a good experience . The college has a lot of events, fests, programmes to enhance the individual. But after I joined this college, I realised that the education quality is not what I expected. The teacher's way of teaching and interaction is not that good. But there are few teachers who are really good in performing their part
The subjects I chose in this course is Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biology. I was a neet aspirant and wanted to become a doctor. It was my dream from childhood. I took a drop year for neet after my 12th standard but could not clear it unfortunately. And this is how I ended up in this college. Since I was a science student, I wanted to take up a course related to science and ended up taking the above mentioned course. Some teachers have completed PG and have come into the profession. As expected, the teaching here is not very good. The teachers here are being careless in their teaching and some teach wrong information. Most of the teachers make ppt presentation, come to the class and just read them. There are only a handful of teachers who really teach well. For each semester, there is a midsem examination and end sem examination but the overall marks is evaluated based on the CIA assignments and lab practicals.
I have not yet opted for any internships offered with my college. I would love to do internship in my interested field that is teaching. If I get an opportunity, I will definitely go for it. There a lot of reputed companies associated with my college.
My plans after completing this course would be into the teaching field. From my childhood, teaching has been my favourite activity throughout. I don't officially take tuitions, but I often clear doubts or teach students near my home during my free time. It is my favourite hobby. I would like to become a professor in a good college and spread my knowledge to as many students possible and make them be interested in my subject.
The year wise fees I have paid for the 1st year is rupees 90,000. Registration fees which had to be paid during the admission was rupees 800. The admission process was online admission. We had different phases of online application and we had to fill it by attaching the respective documents accordingly. There is no other seperate fees to be paid for my course. And the overall feeling structure mainly depends on the second language we choose. I had chosen kannada, so there is no extra fees for it. Our college offers various other second language courses with charges applied. The various other language courses include introductory kannada, introductory English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi and Sanskrit. The amount differs based on the course. For students having financial issues can meet our Vice Chancellor and ask for necessary help. Our college offers various scholarships which students can avail. Midday meal service is available for students who cannot afford their meal.
Life at campus is really awesome. My social life is improved after coming here. The fests I have attended till now are prathibha fest which was conducted in September. I must say this. My college library is really big and has a huge varities of books, journals and also publications by the campus students and faculties. I feel books in our library are the ones helping us to study ????. Classrooms are big and it has a blackboard and projector. The campus everywhere has wifi facilities too. This university is known for its sports and extracurricular activities. I am a cadet of the proud I KAR ARMD SQN NCC TP-3. It has thought me discipline, unity, strong mindset and many more things. We've been involved in a lot of activities and events. There are a lot of associations, clubs run by faculties and students. I am also a part of Kannada Sangha. I am a classical bharatnatyam dancer and recently we had Kannada Rajyotsava programme in which I had given a performance.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
