from my friends and relatives who knows the biotech feild told me about the collages in pune and then i researched about some collages like modern, fergusan and garware collage and i found out that the garware collage's biotech department is too serious about the course . after completing one semister in the collage i can say the decision was perfect.
biotechnology gives variety of options like bioinformatics , bioinstrumentations , biopharmaceuticals , mba , food biotechnology etc. where i can got multiple of options to choose. almost all teachers hold PHD degrees in particular subjects. everyone has their own teaching method but the one thing is common between them is that they wants to increase their students way of study. they makes us research about the topic and it helps to increase the knowledge around the topic. faculties are strict but friendly and helps us alot . it was one of the reason that i chose this collage.
No i didnt opted for any internship program because i am in first year so biotechnology requires good laboratory skills and basic knowledge of academics. department gives internship to third year students.
students have to maintain 8+ cgpa to get incampus internship. many companies visited collage to offer internship programs many of students got selected for internship also they got average of 6k to 10k stipend per month. after the completion of msc students got hired through companies like serum and got starting package of 4.5 lpa to 8 lpa. the highest package is 7 lpa. approximately 40% students got placed through incampus placements and most of students applied for higher education. i will also apply for higher education MSC.
for obc i have given amount of total 66781 rs. including library fee , other fee, deposit, admission fee, laboratory fee, tution fee 200, 27,681 , 600 , 50 ,28,100 , 10150 rs respectively. tution fee will be covered in mahadbt scholarship and it is varies according to your quota. the fee will remain same for every years of the course.
the fest are conducted in in the month february and it lasts for seven days. the fest includes bollywood day, retroday, sportday, and includes other activities like dance performances , fresher of the year , prize distribution. library holds the collection of 60k books and the clasroom is not advanced for first year. a mid room which includes traditional board system and old wooden benches, dose not even had fans at first and for 90 students it is definately not enough. students have to adjust by sitting with other twos on same bench. the ground for sport is big. includes different sports department for Arts , commerce and science. have two volleyball court and one basketball court. avaibillity of things from chess to volleyball, football, basketball. students run cricket assosiation club, dance club, chess club, student association club , and collage have official website and erp website. we can check attendence , result , and all other things can be done , thats a plus point.
hostel fee is 66000 thousand and including mess its 100000 rs which is definately not worth it. rooms dont have enough ventilation and the construction is old . no cleanliness and mess iof the hostel is not good, actually its worse. dose not have menu or options in mess. but in canteen there are lots of options and clean kitchen with decent quality. we can register the hostel from the collage website online . the locality and expenses near collage is too expensive .
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
