In a city like Haridwar, Hec is quite affordable private college. The college is not very far away from home, located quite on the main road. Talking about admission process, there were no written tests or interview that's been taken. Direct admission is offered to the students.
I had chosen Bcom(hons) as part of my career, as I want to pursue my career in banking and want to do PG in MBA. Faculty in the college is well qualified and educated, the teaching quality in the college is good to be honest. There method of teaching is also simple not very complicated. Doubt lectures also been taken by the teachers during the exam time and randomly as well. Term or semester exams were conducted in every 4-6 months and the difficulty of the exam is moderate.
No internship opportunity were given or made available to us during my time at the course. I was a part of the National Survey Scheme(NSS) which is a central government initiative. It was a camp of 7 days in a nearby village where we have to villagers about the facilities they're getting.
I don't know the exact numbers of offers made by the companies, but hardly 30-50 students are placed from various courses, in my course only 3-5 students are placed. Companies like Genpact, HikeEdu, EduKyu, Justdial, Hdfc bank etc arrive for recruitment. My plans after the degree is to aim for bank exam and afterwards MBA
Tution fee was 45000 plus 5000 admission fee after that year wise 45000 to be paid as tution fee during semester exams We had to pay 900 something to the university as examination fee per semester. Some discount is being offered on the tution fee at the time of admission based on percentage of marks scored in 12th exam bt the students.
Campus life is good, campus is not very big so there are less places to roam around. Various clubs are running in the college such as, sports, cultural, literature etc. Fests are conducted on every occasion and festival such as Holi, Diwali, Navratri, christmas etc. Good collection of books and journals is present in the Library. Smartboard is present in classes for more detailed learning. Sports day is organised every year in the college.
No hostel facility is available in the college as of now because mostly the students are from the same city as the college so there is no point of building the hostel. Although a canteen is there in the college which is hygienic and food there tastes good.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
