Likes
- IIT BHU Campus is very big and provides each and every kind of amenites to the students. I especially like the night life in the college where we ride bikes, Chill with friends, in winter we all spend time seating around the fire wood during nights.
- There is a Viswanath Temple in the Campus, which is a very good spot for relaxing and chilling.
Dislikes
- Some Hostels in the College are very old, and rooms are small.
- It would be better if the Campus is a Closed Campus instead of open Campus, where outsiders come into the campus.
Remarks :
IIT BHU is one of India's Oldest engineering institutes and it has rich history of nurturing the fields of Electrical, Mechanical , Ceramic and Pharmaceutical Engineering. It boasts 14 Departments and 3 inter disciplinary Schools. IIT BHU, Varanasi is ranked 10th among the Engineering colleges by the NIRF in 2024. Admission Process : Seat is alloted based upon your JEE Advanced Rank. Students need to be in top 2,50,000 candidates clearing JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced. General Category Candidate must have Secured at least 75% marks in std. XII board exam and 65% for SC-ST Category Candidates. After Qualifying the JEE Advanced : Candidates need to register for JOSAA for seat Allotment. I did my 11th and 12th Standard in FIITJEE Junior College, Hyderabad. Where we have IIT JEE preparation along with Board exams.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have choosen Electrical Engineering because we have wide range career opportunites including Electrical Core jobs, PSU's, Software job Opportunites. Faculty teaching here are highly qualified and experienced in the field of teaching and technology, Some of the are even engaged in research projects all over the world. They not only teach from the Text books but also share their Experience in field of technology. The Subject they teach in the class is very useful. not only for Academics but also for compitetive exams like GATE, IES etc. Each Semester is Approximatly 4 Months. In this period we have 36 - 40 lectures for each subject. 1 Mid Sem 1 End Sem Difficulty level of the exams are very well balanced.
Internships Opportunities :
Students of IIT BHU can find Internship opportunites through Traning and Placement cell (TPC). Pre-final year students are Eligible to participate in the Internship process. Around 100 companies visit's IIT BHU for Interships every year. A Wide Range of companies visit IIT BHU offering internships in Wide range of fields and roles. Roles offered - Software Developer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, ML Engineer, Digital Engineer, Analog Engineer, Product Analyst, Core Engineer, Quant Analyst, Quant Researcher, Embedded Engineer etc. Average Stipend offered by these companies is around Rs. 80,000 per month. and highest stipend is Rs. 4,50,000 per month offered by APT port folio company.
Placement Experience :
Final year Students are Eligible for participating in placement process. 100+ Companies visited IIT BHU and offered 1000+ full time offers for the students in phase-1 placements 2024-25. Wide Range of Companies visited IIT BHU offering Full time roles for the students in wide range of fields. Roles offered : Software Developer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Quant Analyst, Quant Researcher, ML Engineer, Analog, Engineer, Digital Engineer, Embedded Engineer, Product Analyst etc. Top Recruiters : Microsoft, google, Oracle, Texas instruments, Qualcomm, D.E.Shaw, Zomato, Flipkart, BPCL, Ola, Nvidia, Infoedge, Meesho , Deloitte etc. Microsoft : 24 Offers Google : 9 meesho : 11 Texas : 5 etc This Year Highest Package is Rs. 1.65 Cr offered by N.K.Securities and Average package is around 20 lakhs. Campus Life :
Campus Life at IIT BHU is very wonderful. This campus is spread over 1300 acers of land on the bank of River Ganga. We have many college fests out which 3 are major fests : 1) Kashiyatra - College's cultural fest (In January) 2) Technex - College's Technical Fest (in March) 3) Spardha - Sport's fest (in October) other fest : 1) Jagrithi 2) FMC Weekend 3) Departmental fests etc. All kinds of Books, journals, research papers are available in the library. Even soft copies are also available in institutes library wedsite. Every Sports facility is available in the campus. Cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, badminton, Athletics etc. Even Students are encouraged to participate in Inter college sports competitions and Inter IIT Sports Meet. Students are engaged in many clubs, councils like Robotics, Finearts, Ecell, Business, Sports Clubs etc which are mainly maintained by students itself. There is also a Students Counselling Services(SCS) for the Welfare of the Students.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are Alloted based upon the year(1st, 2nd, final etc) and department of the student. 1st year students are alloted 3 sharing rooms, and the rest of the B.tech, M.tech students are alloted 2-Sharing Rooms. Phd students are alloted single sharing rooms. Hostel seat rent : 300 (Per Sem) Mess fee : 15,000 (per Sem) Both South Indian and North Indian Food are availble in the College's Mess. We even have Satvik mess In the Campus. Canteens are present in every hostel and parts of campus. There isn't any separate process for hostel registration, it is part of Fee payment and course registration itself.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
