- The location of the college is site to behold. The infrastructure is not great but provides the essential amenities. The labs are equipped with high ranked equipments.
- The faculty members teach with their full potential and help us thoroughly. Despite being the faculty members they also guide us through the life with their experienced talks. If you are feeling anxious about what your future beholds teachers here help you with relieving your nerves and offer councelling sessions.
Dislikes
- The college campus doesn't expand to the great distance as a college should be , with only 2 lecture halls.
- The campus life isn't happening at all with little to no extra curricular activities.
Remarks :
The admission in Kumaun University is an easy step. The one who wishes to take the admission into KU should make it to the merit list. Being located in the realms of the scenic view the campuses of KU offer a site to behold. The admission procedure is not a very tough task. You should register onto the samarth portal and choose the courses of you liking and when the merit list is released you have to appear for the counseling procedure. But being a prestigious government University, the affordability of the course here is somewhat high as compared to other government Universities like DU. Where DU had approx ?24000 of tuition fees per year the fees in KU for 1st semester only is higher than that. With the kind of facilities it provide the fees is unreasonable.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Master's degree in biotechnology is one of the most high ranked course offered by KU. I was unable to clear the cut offs for the major colleges offering master's in biotechnology and I resorted to KU as it didn't require any entrance exam. The faculty of KU is top notch. All the faculty members have years of experience and are always eager to motivate you to achieve more than your potential. Unlike other colleges the teachers are helpful. They provide the notes while teaching which is rare to find in master's degree. The term exams in KU are although not very regulated. The datesheet for the exams is not being released until a week before leaving the students with no adequate time for the preparations. This leads to the students facing dilemma of applying for the summer and winter internships. Although the difficulty level of the exam is on a moderate level with the questions asked directly to the point.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are well regulated. There are a number of internships offered by VC office for 1-2 months with a stipend of ?2000-4000 per month. The university also provide the funds for the innovative start up ideas.
Placement Experience :
The Bhimtal Campus of KU doesn't really offer on campus placement and job opportunities. For being able to get a job after degree completion one must look out for the off campus opportunities on LinkedIn.

Campus Life :
The only shortcomings of KU is it's ability to not offer the social life a college student anticipate before taking the admission. With only one cultural fest taking place in an entire year KU fails to offer students the vibrant college life. The library of the college campus is it's best place offering the books from every standard writer. The journals here also help in the understanding with the current trends in the field of science.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel accommodation charges are reasonable with ?20000 fees per year with an additional caution fee of ?3000. The charges for the mess are separate and are based on the number of diets you take including compulsory 40 diets which roundabouts to ?1960. Due to the minimal charges the quality of food is also on the average side with no change in the menu throughout the year. For the registration it is based on first come first serve. If you have paid the tuition fees for the college then you can register yourself for the hostel accommodation by filling out a form.

Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.

Underrated university for pursuing Management courses
Placement Experience :
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.

I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.

Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.

I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
