- Sanitary, well built infrastructure, all buildings undergo frequent maintainance, lecture halls have air conditioning and projectors, labs are well built and very well equipped, the hospital is gigantic and boasts 1000+ patients per day in any OPDs, there is a huge library eith the ideal environment for high pressure last minute studying and a well equipped grocery close to the hostels, easily accessible to all students, residents etc, a beautiful park to stroll in the evenings and safe, long roads to cycle on
Dislikes
- Lack of recreational venues like cafes, common halls, studios. There is a singular, small amd overcrowded gym and the experience becomes extremely bland and stale in a matter of days
Remarks :
The college boasts of an unparalleled reputation in terms of academics and facilities among other private colleges in the entirety of North India, which is the chief motivating factor for not only me but many of my batchmates which lead us to choose this college. Furthermore it's proximity to the lovely city of Dehradun lets us have fun weekends too. The admission process was also hassel free and honestly at a practical cutoff. The cutoff for general category as of the year 2023 was around 450 marks in NEET, which makes this college the go to choice for students that just missed their cutoffs for Government Colleges. I'd eagerly reccomend this college to anyone looking to go to private colleges, because the academics and experience here gets as close to government colleges as it gets.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As mentioned the academics of this college are as good as it gets among the private colleges of Northern India. That being said it is important for you to know that it is not easy aswell. The college takes its academics very seriously and tackling the exams requires long hours of studying, and you need to be studying from the very beginning. The bad side of this college also lies in its academic glory, the proffessors can be rather unprofessional when it comes to grading your papers and taking your viva as they follow the rather unfair agenda of favouritism. If you are sincere and polite from the beginning the proffessors will grade your favourably but if either by sheer dumb luck or by incompetence you end up in the bad books of your proffessors they will be extra hard on you in vivas and grade you accordingly, failing you be marginal marks and passing those they are fond of, and sadly the internals that allow you to give the Professional exams are also set by said professors
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are mandatory for every students after which they recieve their degrees and are free to work as an undergraduate doctor or opt for NEET-PG to go for post graduate courses. As an intern yoy are required to do mostly paperwork in the OPDs, occasionally assist in surgeries and apply canulas, injections etc
Placement Experience :
Upon completion of final professional year the students have to work in a mandatory internship for 1 year in which we get paid a very very generous amount of Rs 10,000 per month which is very very disappointing for a college as expensive as this, not to mention other colleges in Uttrakhand offer a minimum of 17,000 per month to their interns. There are also several occurances of stipend being 2-3 months late. The interns get worked to the death.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees per annum = 1,80,000 Hostel fees = 1,20,000 Admission fees = 1,00,000 Security deposit = 2,00,000 Enrollment fees = 1,000 Exam fees (as of first year) = 4,000 Mess charges = 60,000 Hospitality fees (laundry, etc) = 20,000 The entirety of tuition fees of the first year will be charged on the day of admission and cautionary checks will have to be deposited in case of non payment of fees There are no scholarships or financial aids available for students as far as my knowledge goes Students belonging to state quota also have to depsoit the entirety of tuition fees of All-India Quota however later in the year they recieve a rebate which they may choose to have deposited in their accounts or have the amount compensated in their tuition fees of the next year
Campus Life :
I claim to see this college as an epitome of academic excellence I have to admit the college barely cares for the extracurricular activities of students. The famous fests which every future college students dream to enjoy are sadly non existent in this college, only last year did our seniors take the initiative to organise the first fest in the history of HIMS, for which our university refused to give financial support for and left it entirely upto the students to make all arrangements, and refused to cancel classes on the day of the fest. The freshers party is always a disappointing affair for the seniors and students alike. There is, however, an annual cultural event that our college organises but that too is a rather disappointing mess of a 'fest' we get. There are occasional sports events, however that is not a spectator event and only players get compensation for attendance, beacuse of which these events lack any excitement.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are compulsory for all students all throughout the duration of the course. Options include sharing AC or Non- AC rooms. Unfortunately the college policy does not allow you to apply for a single room until your are in second year and since rooms are limited you will only be able to get a single room if you are extremely lucky. Mess is satisfactory, sanitary and has a fairly long list of dishes made on different days. However the common bathrooms are often non-functional and there have been several occurances of Typhoid due to drinking water and UTIs among girls. The staff is fortunately extremely responisve and gets most problems fixed in a matter of days, for which I respect the head of student affairs and wardens. Overall I must say this college offers the best living conditions among any college of North India

Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.

Underrated university for pursuing Management courses

To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.

Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.

I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
