Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) was established in the year 1995, under the umbrella of Swami Rama Himalayan University, which offers a variety of courses. HIMS is the oldest Medical College in Uttarakhand and also the first College to offer PhD in the field of medical sciences. Admission to this College is done on the basis of NEET for MBBS courses and NEE-2023 for nursing.

The College also provides placements, almost 99% of students, who are MBBS passed out have been successfully placed, prior to which they are given internship opportunities-with a stipend coming to around 40,000-50,000. As of 2022, the highest CTC offered was INR 25 LPA.
