Remarks :

I had selected around 4-5 colleges from Pune from which my first priority was VIt and later I had applied for Dy Patil college. No, I did not had any GD or Interview, I was directly selected on the basis of CET cut off. Good Aspect of college is you have regular lectures, practicals and team activities (Like MESA work or BAJA competition) Bad aspect of the college is the faculty is not very cooperative and supportive. Faculty themselves has ego issues and clashes. There is no sports clubs or opportunities for matches. Just small competition once a year. They have average cut off around 60-70 for OBC and for open around 75-80.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had not planned anything for my future career and I had made my mindset that if I will not be able to choose any career then I'll go for mechanical so that I can shift to automation or industrial sector etc. I would say some faculty are well qualified and experienced and some are just for name sake. Handful of teachers are supportive and understanding rest all will torture you at the time of submissions and practicals. They teach in Marathi inspite of having english curriculum. Exams are there after every 2 months whether be it insem or endsem. There are two insem and endsem for each year followed by two final practicals. Syllabus is quite moderate but needs good preparation to clear the semesters.

Internships Opportunities :

No, I did not opt for any intership and the college doesn't provide internship in third year and you have to find it on your own. They try to provide you with job or atleast an internship in last year.

Placement Experience :

Placements have minimum basic criteria of 60% in 10th and no backlogs in semesters. It depends from company to company. College has good placement cell where they try to provide you some offers. I did not opt for any placement as I was studying for competitive exams. Highest package offered was of 12 lakhs per annum and average is 4-6 lakhs per annum. Around 70% students got placed in various company's. You can find intership in Chakan or Bhosari Industrial sector which is close to akurdi.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees for student :- General - 98,792/- OBC - 55,576/- SC/ST - 3292/- TFWS quota - 12,861/- I paid 55576 fees per year. I do not have the receipt now. I'll share the fees for TFWS quota and its structure. Eligibility fees - 500 University proprata - 638 Insurance fees - 1104 Student activitiy - 1000 Developmental fees - 9569 Tution fees - 0 Total fees - 12,861/- You can apply for scholarship in aple sarkar portal where the college will guide the OBC and sc/st student for scholarships and you receive it after 5-6 months.

Campus Life :

Fests are quite good in Dy Patil. They are mostly in Jan end or Feb. Library of Dy Patil is pretty good and has ample of studying space. Classrooms have smart class and proper ventilation. There are various clubs but none of it very useful or productive. Except the Baja competition for mechanical engineers who build cars the whole semester. It is quite productive and helpful for future placements and experience. Rest it is an average college.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel of Dy Patil is very expensive around 1.5 to 2lakh per annum. Instead you can afford flats on rental basis as they are very cheap in akurdi or you can be a paying guest. Nearby the college there is Navashantiniketan society area where you can find all pg's and flats and college is about 2mins walking distance. College has very good 3-4 big canteens where I had my lunch and breakfast. Quality is also very good. I stayed in a flat so I'm sharing my flat experience below

An industry focused learning experience

Placement Experience :

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
