Likes
- The dedication and commitment towards a better institute compared to others this has low strength but still they spend money equivalent to any other institute.
- The faculty to student ratio is less for every three students one faculty member is present. So it is great to solve your problems.
Dislikes
- The strength of students there are very less people in this specific field and people are not choosing this area of studies.
- The awareness that this specific institute has is very less I found this by myself people don't know about this.
Remarks :
I always wanted to study about aerospace and rocket sciences so my only best options were the IIT's and this IIST as any private institute would not maintain proper labs as this course is choosen by so less people and the labs maintenance of this course has extreme costs so only government funded institutes can do this and this IIST is under ISRO organisation so it has connections with ISRO facilities and professors. The only thing needed for the admission are to pass the JEE advanced examination and enter your details in the seat allocation website of IIST.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is strictly concentrated on the space sciences, rocket mechanics and propulsions along with some basic and advanced physics and maths required to understand all the other. The labs and facilities are at their atmost perfection and they try to better the course structure and policies according to the needs and students future and benifits. The faculties are people directly under the selection of ISRO and most of them already have in hand experience working in ISRO and other space related studies and they are very well versed in their respective fields.
Internships Opportunities :
As far as I know the internship programs all start from third year onwards and since I'm a first year person I haven't much knowledge in that. But I heard the internship programs are very well organised with help from alumin and funds given from ISRO. I have seen some seniors already working on such things and facilities are also guiding them.
Placement Experience :
The placement is greatly planned here if your CGPA is above the desired mark for us now it's 7.5 you will be asked to take a small interview and then recruited into ISRO as their major goal in this institute is to train students according to the needs of ISRO or for a mind in space exploration. If not you would have various options in private companies since these rocket parts are developed by so many companies like sony, gootrej and tata etc. You can also go for mtech degree in various foreign institutions since this IIST has many foreign ties with big institutes even with MIT.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For a person with no reservations it's 62500 per semester excluding the mess fee and caution deposit is 5000 but if your income is less than 5 lakhs it's 20000 per semester again excluding mess fee and caution deposit. If you have obc reservation it's 20000 per semester excluding mess fees. If your income is less than 1 lakh your entire tuition fee is reimbursed. If your from SC/ST cast entire few is reimbursed.
Campus Life :
The campus life is free. We may have restrictions in timings outside of the campus like 6 in the morning and night 11 but between that you can come and go anytime and inside the campus you can roam anytime. There are many clubs photography, dance, money related, social service , gym, literature, music , arts , sports . All these have excellent infrastructure and personal space provided. Especially gym has very good equipment and trainers and rest of them has a faculty head and a person to teach from the group.
Hostel Facilities :
There is no seperate application for hostel fee everyone who studies in IIST must study from inside and this is included in the above mentioned tution fee. The water and current all are in there and there is high speed wifi available to every one all around the campus. The mess is hygieneic and healthy food is provided and food is provided keeping in mind the diversity of the whole strength in the IIST. The room is big and every one is given with a wooden cot a study table and a bed side drawer. The washrooms are modern styled and there are working heaters.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
