- Daulat Ram College is an excellent choice for students, particularly those interested in pursuing courses in the humanities, social sciences, and commerce. It offers a good balance of academics, extracurricular activities, and opportunities for personal growth. However, like many colleges in Delhi University, the infrastructure can be improved, especially in terms of space and internet facilities. Overall, it provides a solid platform for academic and personal development in a vibrant and inclusive environment. Located in North Delhi, on the Mall Road, Daulat Ram College is well-connected by public transport, including metro station . The college has spacious grounds, greenery, and well-maintained facilities. The quality of teaching is highly rated by students. Professors are approachable and supportive. The college has a well-stocked library with a variety of academic and reference books, journals, and online resources. The college has a strong focus on extracurricular activities.
- There are computer labs, Wi-Fi access in certain areas, and modern classrooms. However, like many other colleges, some students have raised concerns about internet connectivity in some parts of the campus. The college has a decent placement record, particularly for students in commerce and economics. Various companies from different sectors like marketing, consulting, media, and education visit the campus for recruitment. The college has an active alumni network, which helps current students with networking and job opportunities. Daulat Ram College has a diverse student body, with students coming from various cultural and geographical backgrounds. This diversity adds to the overall experience of the students, making it an inclusive environment. Dislikes
- The college fees and hostel fees is quite high as compared to other colleges under Delhi University. There is limited hostel facilities, with not enough spaces for all interested students.
- Campus space constraints, with some areas being quite crowded during peak times. Infrastructure issues, especially with internet connectivity and classrooms.
Remarks :
To take admission in this college, one is suppose to appear for CUET examination which is held once a year by NTA. Students with higher percentile gets the required cut- off and can then fill CSAS portal to take admission in this college. Reservation facilities are provided to students belonging to catagories like OBC- ncl, SC/ST and ECA( Extra-curricular activities) , CW category and sports category. Mostly 3 Rounds of admissions take place to fill the seats then based on vacant seats spot rounds are conducted to fill almost 1 lakh seats in 71 colleges of Delhi University.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose B.Sc Life Sciences course which provides in depth knowledge in fields of botany, zoology and chemistry which has great scope of research in future for discovering and investigating about health , diseases and preventive measures for various organisms. The teaching faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable having phd degrees and well- knowledgeable lab attendants who perform their work sincerely. The examinations are conducted twice a year for 2 semesters with theory and practical exams separately. Internal Marks are also given based on internal assessment, class- assignments, class-test and attendance. The paper pattern is based on the NEP ( National Education Policy) which started from 2022.
Internships Opportunities :
Younity is an internship that I have opted. It trains individuals the skills required to work for a company. This Internship provide students with hands-on experience in their chosen field, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations. This can help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fee of Daulat Ram College is Rs. 34250 .Partial or full fee concessions may be granted to economically weaker students, subject to good conduct, regular attendance, and satisfactory progress in studies.
Campus Life :
The campus is well maintained with gardens, sports complex, playground, botanical garden, recycling unit, canteen, cafe, auditorium called "Sadbhawna Bhawan" and rangshala where events takes place. Workshops and seminars are conducted in seminar hall and conference hall. " Manjari" is the fest which is held in March. Other events which are conducted by the college are departmental fests, freshers, farewell, inter-college and intra- college competitions, etc. Books and magazines are available in the library which are used for the syllabus framework. Facilities of extra curricular activities are provided to the students by various societies such as NCC, NSS, NSO Spic Macay, Sports (NSO), Alahyaa (Music Society), Anhad (Classical Dance Society) Debating Society Dhara (Eco Club) Encore (Western Music Society) , Imagism (Poetry Society), Magic Lantern (Film Society), Memesis (Theatre SocietySepia (Photography Society), Spectra (Fina Arts Society), Tajagna (Quiz Society) .

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
