Likes
- The atmoshphere the fun in the hostels, and most above the campus life and great placements
- Easy academic curriculum(few branches like Mechanical, Electrical being on the tougher side)
Dislikes
- Poor infrastructure and a bit of security concerns due to open campus
- Lack of basic amenities in hostels mainly the older hostels
Remarks :
Admission is done through, JEE Advanced, Did not attend any GD or PI, only counselling was done through JOSSA, and I was allotted IIT(BHU), Varanasi based on my JEE Advanced Rank and preference order. I choose this college because of the correct balance between branch and college as I was not getting any BTECH OR Dual degree in Engineering options at any other old IIT
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was allotted this course based on my rank. The faculties are well qualified with industry experience and connects all of them have done their PhD's either from top tier IIT's or US Universities. We have exams 2 times a semester(midsems and endsems) and mostly the academic curriculum is on the easier side compared to other older IIT's.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done multiple off campus internships, but the on campus internship prospects are also very good at IIT(BHU), Varanasi, close to 30-40% students receive on campus internship. The number might look small but since a very small percentage prepares for internship thus this low number
Placement Experience :
Placements at IIT(BHU), Varanasi are top notch and comparable with the likes of IITB AND IITD, Most of the companies are open for all the branches with a few exception opening for only CSE Or Circuit Branches (around 20% in number). Highest package for 2024-25 is around 2.2CR and average package is 22Lakhs More than 75-80% students are placed after their graduation, with the rest going for higher studies or competitive exams. I plan on joining the corporate after graduation
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Year Wise Tuition Fees is 2,00,000 Rupees Per Year for General and OBC Category students having income above 5LPA, For Annual income between 1LPA-5LPA Annual tuition fees is 33% of 2Lakhs that is 66k, and for General candidates having annual income below 1Lakh it is Free. For SC/ST/PWD candidates no Tuition fees. For all the candidates(Gen, OBC,SC,ST,PWD) a 12.6k Annual fee is charged which includes Exam Fee, Gymkhana fee, Festival Fee etc etc. There are scholarships like IITBHU Foundation Scholarship, KAF81 Scholarship, and multiple other department scholarships.
Campus Life :
There are mainly 3 Fests at IIT(BHU), along with multiple other departmental and council level Fests. Spardha - Sports Fests during October KY- Cultural fest during January Technex - Techno Fest during Feb end and March Library is well equipped with all the facilities although the size is small compared to the number of students, thus you might find it hard to get a seat during exams. Sports and Extracurricular is top notch with all the facilities being provided Almost all the clubs are student run, Eg: Kashi Utkarsh, TPC, SAIC these are a few student run bodies
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is mandatory and all the students are given a hostel, no separate registration is required, Hostel + Mees Fees is around 16-17k per semester. Although it is not allowed to stay in a PG outside the hostel but if there are strict medical issue you can rent PG near campus around Hyderabad gate

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
