They have an excellent mechanical branch with well qualified professors. The academic section and some rules can be a little over the top and unnecessary but even apart from that the curriculum is pretty good and gives you an edge on masters applications. You have opportunities in every corner and something for everyone. It’s a vast and diverse place. I mainly came for their Formula Student Team which I was a part of and it truly was one of the best experiences of my life.
Getting marks is tough. Exams are tough if you do last minute prep, but if you are used to studying regularly you can easily top. The course is a little tough but nothing over the top. It fully depends on which electives you take. My advice would be not to take the really tough ones as they affect your CGPA (speaking from experience).
So many opportunities available. Even within college, outside college. Few of my friends got internship opportunities in ISRO, HAL etc. Even apart from that you can reach out to the very very vast alumni network and they will for sure reach out to you.
Get a good CGPA you will get good placements. Don’t get backlogs. It’s very very easy to get them. But try not to. If you sit for placements you will get. But the placement program is not as helpful as I would expect it to be
There are various scholarships offered. If you are within the top 10% of the batch you will get 80-90000Rs scholarship every year and apart from that if your family income is under 7 lakhs your fees comes to under 6 lakhs for the entire 4 years. If you are from the Konkan region you get additional scholarships. Apart from this there are various other scholarship options you can opt for. The tuition fees comes to around 17 lakhs for the entire 4 years. Overall expect to spend 25 lakhs on your 4 years of education including everything.
Best campus and social life. Campus is super chill. PDA is not discouraged, yes you can talk to girls unlike some other colleges. Fests are really really fun. Nightlife in manipal is amazing. So many places to visit, the surrounding areas are some of the most beautiful parts of India. Do travel as much as you can when you are here.
I did live in hostel for about 2 years before moving out to live in a rented accommodation. I’ve heard it’s gotten stricter but it’s not too much. It’s very bearable. Mess food on the other hand is not something I would suggest. Downright horrendous. But campus life is great. It’s one of the most beautiful and well maintained campuses I’ve seen.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.
I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities
The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
