Remarks :

Since this was one of the best colleges in my city and state for engineering. I was allotted to this college once I had secured a good rank (3882) in KEAM entrance examination 2013. My first allotment was in SCT Engineering College in Trivandrum, to Electronics and Communication engineering. However, I waited for the second allotment to Barton hill as this was a better college and also had only nominal fees.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I took Electrical and electronics engineering honestly because I didn't want to take either mechanical or civil engineering, and I was given an idea that taking a core subject like electrical offers more mobility towards other specific fields or subjects if I needed to change in future. Looking back, I think I did the right thing, because I expected my professional skills to develop through the B.Tech. I can say that I could choose my field because I had taken a core subject instead of a more specific subject at that time. However, in college, things got difficult by second year. Faculty were on an average level - it's more because the students who study in this college are brighter that there are good results from the college. Teaching methods were more or less conventional and less innovative or friendly to students. Exams were conducted at University level at the end of semester as well as in the middle of semester internally. The difficulty level in both cases was average.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships were applied from our personal contacts rather than by college support. I had short internships with Keltron and KEL, through my classmate contacts. Both of them didn't give any stipend options. College didn't offer exposure to any stipend internships.

Placement Experience :

Unfortunately in the year I passed (2017), there were far lesser placements in the history of the college. There's a placement unit, CGPU, and the preparation of students by college-led placement training classes was a good step.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The basic fee was six thousand per year, plus added fees for college festivals etc. Since I studied in a Government College under state merit, but under general quota, this is the fee structure. I remember my college was almost free for students under ST quota.

Campus Life :

On one hand, my college is a Government College, without unwanted restrictions on dressing or similar things. The Agneya fest by the college and departmental fests (Electrical department hosted the "cosphi") happened annually, and they were really vibrant, pulling students from other colleges too. College library is more focused on the textbooks and useful references, and there are enough books to get you through BTech. Volunteer group NSS and departmental groups (like IEEE for electrical) had chapter in our college. Classrooms are more or less traditional and old fashioned, but there is a projector, in case someone needs to use that to teach. Strikes by student unions are a sour side of studying in a government college. But it's good that you can go home once a strike starts. There were other clubs, like for arts and literature, but they were low profile, known only at the time when they conduct competitions.

Sct review

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
