Likes
- Infrastructure is great, labs are also great having all required equipments, and also access to specialized facilities.
- Location! Campus is in a very green location, and being a bit far from bhopal city there is no problem of city noise and pollution.
Dislikes
- Nothing much to dislike, except that sometimes the location although great, it provides somewhat less accessibility to city.
- Sometimes, the large number of courses can be a bit hectic. Perhaps 1st year students should be provided with more flexibility.
Remarks :
I have a passion for chemistry, so upon inquiring I found out that this institute is one of the best places for an undergraduate degree in chemistry in the country, and also I really liked the campus! Hence decided to opt for IISER Bhopal. I had to give the IISER Aptitude Test(IAT) to get admission, and it is also the only way to get admission. No interviews are held. There is no such preparation to be done for the rounds, just enter correct IISER preference order.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as it is quite different from the traditional BSc. or MSc. course. BS-MS is more research oriented, and a clear example is that the final(5th) year of the degree doesn't consist of any coursework, only the master's thesis. All faculty are highly qualified, postdoc completed at minimum and years of experience. The teaching methods differ with the course instructor, but most of the professors are great at teaching, also easy to approach and friendly. The term exams are held strictly accordingly to the timing, and there is no issue whatsoever with syllabus completion, everything is taught at the correct place while also ensuring completion. Term exam difficulty also depends per course and instructor, but generally is moderate level of difficulty.
Placement Experience :
There aren't many campus placement drives for the natural sciences degrees students, as most opt to do PhD after completing their degree, and I plan to as well. As such, there is no officially released placement data.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The per semester fees is as follows: Admission fees(one-time): 15000 Tuition Fee: 36700 (Waived for SC/ST) User Fee: 9700 (incl. lab fees, library fees, activities, etc.) Hostel and Dining Fee: 6700 The mess fees has to be paid to the mess contractor monthly seperate of this, and ranges around 3500. While enrolling in counselling, a Seat Acceptance Fee(SAF) must be paid, which is 35000 for GEN/OBC/EWS and 17500 for SC/ST Scholarships are available like DST-INSPIRE based on 12th board marks, and more scholarships like reliance which have to be applied seperately.
Campus Life :
The fests in the college are: Singularity (Science Fest): Jan-Feb Mahua (Environmental Fest): Feb Enthuzia (Cultural Flagship Fest): March-April Armageddon (Tech Fest): March-April All coursework related books available in library, and also more books are available for hobby reading. There are many clubs and student activities, like debate club, comics club, movie club, etc. Movies are also streamed regularly for crowds to watch. There are many sports facilities throughout campus, and also matches with other colleges sometimes.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is nice, registration is on admission day itself. It is very affordable, with fees 6700 per semester. The rooms are adequately spacious, and are 2 person occupancy. It is compulsory to enroll in hostel, day scholar is not allowed unless special circumstances. Mess food is not too bad not too great, but doable.

Placement and job opportunity is good in this college around 60% placed before start of 7th semester and 90% placed till end of 8th semester. Various company like Amazon , tcs , infosys , etc visit the campus. Highest package till now is 44 lpa and average is 6.5 lpa

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
