Likes
- Infrastructure - The college has state-of- the-art infrastructure and has ample amount of resources for the student to be an expertise and all-rounded.
- Faculty- Seasoned faculty with ample qualifications and knowledge to impart with the dedication to teaching the students and enhancing the skill levels.of the students, as well.
Dislikes
- Very bad in planning, they keep in changing things last minute and can't decide a proper time-schedule most of the time.
- Sometimes, they don't give chances to people who actually deserve it.
Remarks :
I chose the college because it's the best college in hotel management in the country and a few of my relatives have graduated from the same. The facilities and infrastructure is top-notch and state-of-the-art with seasoned faculty as well. The bad aspects of the college I would say is they are very bad in planning schedules and don't plan things properly. About the admission process, they had a written exam at first, which focused on logical reasoning, mathematics and general knowledge. After that, there were 2 rounds of interviews, first round by a faculty member and the second round by the Vice Principal( in my case, can vary from person to person).
Course Curriculum Overview :
I've been passionate about Hospitality since my teenage and choose to pursue a career in the same since then. The course I took focuses on the core departments of a hotel with exposure to practical experience as well. The faculty are very qualified with over atleast over 10 years of experience and with Masters and PHD qualifications as well. They teach the theoretical aspects thru PPTs and give assignments with case studies as well. Then, they teach practicals as well. About exams, the mid-sems would be conducted 2-3 months into the semester and would be of medium difficulty. The end sems would be more difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
My internship was done abroad and was gotten through my contacts. Other than that, the college provides internships in hotels located in India for almost all major hotels in India, such as ITC Grand Chola, Marriott Courtyard, Taj West End etc.
Placement Experience :
Placements are very good, almost 100% placement takes place. Around 30 companies have come for placements this time, starting from major Hotel chains such as ITC, Marriott, Oberoi, Taj etc. Then, a few corporate companies have come as well. For MT positions, they take maximum 10% of the batch with the package being around the range of 20000-45000. For other lower positions, they recruit more students, but recruitments for MT are lesser, as it's the biggest position for recruiment.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The Tuition Fees would be around 214,400 and the order academic fees would come to around 144000, therefore, the total being 358000. It's a good fee, for the infrastructure that's provided. For BSc Culinary Sciences, the fees are higher.
Campus Life :
Food Fests are conducted in our college every year by the culinary students, mostly. The library is fully equipped with a huge variety of books on various topics. The college focuses more on extra-curricular activities(dance, drama, music)than sports, honestly. The college has a huge number of clubs, such as Literary Club, Horticulture Club, Gastronomy Club, Drama Club etc. Not to mention, the college also runs a student- operated Cafe, as well!!!
Hostel Facilities :
Mess is the best one in Manipal, they make very good food in general, even though the quality fluctuates often. For enrolling, you just have to talk to the Manager first and then if he agrees, you can join through the SIS portal. For the hostel, you just have to login through the SIS portal and choose your hostel type, then pay the fees through the appropriate method. The hostel is a bit expensive with AC rooms currently costing 170000 Rs and Non AC rooms costimg around 130000-140000. The washing machine facility is available and laundry facilities are also available, though it is extra( rates depend on the dress).

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
