A++ NAAC and 96th in the top 100 made me choose it, there was an entrance exam that is the BVCET .criteria for admission is that if your rank lies under one thousand you’re eligible for computer branches and the scholarship programs are few but yes they’re provided.
A fusion of engineering along with some business knowledge is what made me choose computer science and business systems (CSBS). Almost 60 percent of the faculty is post graduated and the rest are PhD and out of those post graduates many are pursuing PhD while teaching as well. Exams are conducted every one month and the difficulty level is quite easy.
No such internship opportunities were provided by the college , we were said to look for internships on our own in the 6th semester. In the 7th semester during placement season, 2 companies came to hire interns (KPMG and ThynkTech(startup)).
Placement head of the college is an active man and quite hardworking as well i would say, the average package being provided is around 5LPA but yes opportunities are there, packages are not very handsome but placement rate is good. The mass recruiters with good appetites are hiring 30 40 students on an average (capgemini - 38 offers, Infosys -50 offers). Airtel, icici, hsbc, delloite , thoughtworks also hired.
Started from 1.84 lakhs the first year and with 10 percent increment every year got as high as 2.14 lakhs, people from nepal and jammu get a good scholarship they don’t pay anything, and girl child scholarships are also there.
“Bhartiyam” is conducted every February. The library is huge but anyone barely goes there to issue books, it’s mostly crowded during exams that too the reading area. Sports is good, freshers are given opportunities and inter college tournaments take place frequently. Music clubs are active throughout. Social work club is also active but not that much as music.
Stayed at the college boys hostel for 1 semester, horrible rooms horrible security horrible food and over priced , barely stayed there , usually used to hang with friends at their spaces. Been staying at a rented apartment since the second semester.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
