No in garware there is not any type of entrance exam there is only a cut-off list , some one can get easily admission in garware's department of journalism and mass communication with average score of 40 percentile in 12th board exams. The main reason of choosing this college is in the whole pune only two colleges offers this course under 50000 one is garware and other is DY patil so I choose garware because it lies in Deccan one of the prime and well connected location there is so many college and halls near by so I can keep connected with the events happening in that locations .
The curriculum of Journalism and mass communication is mainly based on introductory part till TY you just got introduction to many subjects like mass communication, journalism, radio and television, Audio visual, media ethics, photography, PR and advertising, print and publication, drama, cinematography etc. curriculum and faculties just introduce you to the aspects of industry. Othere things you should have to done with your self . There is six to seven subjects in a semester in which 3 are theory and others are practical subjects. Mainly the guest faculties teaches nicely tried to gives practical knowledge of that subject. In garware Department of journalism and mass communication comes under non grant so there is not any type of scholarship applied to this course.
garwares department of journalism and mass communication does not offer any type of placement of jobs. Yes there is a compulsory internship in our curriculum for two times in three years. First in SY and second in TY both internships are we should find by ourselfs college doesn't send us or recommend us.
College life of Garware is like 'Duniyadaari' everything is there for your dreamy college life friends, family, Sports, other curricular activities, and imperfections in management all like movie thoda sukh thoda dukh . If we are going to talk about infrastructure there is canteen, a multi-purpose play ground, open gym, assembly hall, audio visual hall, Gymkhana, parking and the most important thing 'katta' . For DJMC there is a recording studio with chroma and all recording equipments like camera, mic, lights, computer set up with editing softwares and so on. In the month of Feb department days are happening includes caltural Days, activities, games, competitions, debates, lectures, marts.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
