There are multiple factors because of which I leaned towards choosing Government Polytechnic Nagpur. The main reason was it was a government-affiliated college and the second was the infrastructure and the fees because of which I chose the government polytechnic Nagpur. There are no interviews or written tests taken everything depends upon your merit which means your percentage in 10th and 12th.
The curriculum of the government Polytechnic Nagpur is very best. As it is an autonomous college the curriculum is revised every 2-3 years which helps to keep it updated according to the industry standards. The facilities are also very good they help the students in which other way is possible. They focus many to build the skill set of the student.
There are various internship opportunities in the college companies come and provide students with internships such as Dhoot Transmission Ltd which offers a stipend of 12,000 and many more where so the internships are very good for this college.
There is a dedicated placement cell in the college. Some companies come to the college to provide internships. As in this college, we get a diploma and not a degree so there are fewer companies which come to the college some of them are Dhoot Transmission Ltd and the other is Datastack, RB tech and services and many more were also there. The eligibility for the companies is the student should not have any backlogs or bad character.
The campus life of Government Polytechnic Nagpur is very good. They conduct a fest every year called Avishkar and it is conducted every year in Feb or March. The books are available in the library of the college and the books are also the new edition. In the classroom, we have all the basic amenities. There are n-number of clubs in the college such as Gymkhana, ISTE and many more. There are hostels in the college as well on the campus itself and the quality of the food and rooms of the hostel is also very good. and if you don't get a hostel you can select a pg which is in Chaoni which is very near to the college.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
