Coming from Delhi, I had limited options with a narrow cut-off NEET score to get into any Delhi college. I couldn't score as much. After that, the only option was private colleges with as good a reputation as KIMS. I got KIMS as my first choice and I went ahead with it. There was no interview. I was allotted the college based on my NEET score. My college is ranked the best private college in Bangalore and 2nd best college in Bangalore (both pvt and govt). The college provides all the basic amenities that might be not available in state-level govt colleges. Our hospital is in the middle of the city so the patient load is quite decent. Teaching is exemplary at least until 3rd year which makes us score the best in RGUHS university exams. I think the benefits outweigh the small faults here and there. Still, talking about the basic aspects, it would be affordability, internal politics, and no fests. But these have gotten better (except affordability). USMLE culture is very strong in KIMS
I always wanted to be a doctor so choosing MBBS was a no-brainer for me. Academics here in KIMS are way better than many colleges out there. There are special mentor-mentee programs that take care of the individual needs of students. Exams are strict and timely and take care of the boards every year that we are supposed to face. The cost can be unaffordable for some but considering it is a private MBBS college it is way less than its counterparts. As per there are no scholarships given but Karnataka students can avail of government scholarships.
I have not yet. I cannot be an intern without completing graduation. No one in medicine is qualified to work without obtaining a degree. There is a college internship after we complete 4 years of study
There are no placements as such in Medicine but KIMS alumnus is present all over the world and India. The education from KIMS lets us ace any interview or fulfill any job requirement. Usmle culture is very strong. My plans after graduation are to write NEET PG and get a seat for the PG
The only factor that makes it mediocre is the campus. We have different college and hospital campuses. So travel is hectic. The college is peaceful and located in the posh society of old Bangalore. No outside nuisance is observed. The hospital is 4km away from the college but there is a bus facility for the same. The library is vast and has all kinds of books related. Fest is intra-college and called cultural. Sports Day is celebrated well. The college team performs well in the other competitions. Clubs are not active right now but are in the process of getting active. The hostel is good for the price we pay and they promise it is going to get better soon. PG availability is easy in the area.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.
I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities
The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
