IITK: a short review
Remarks :
IIT K is one of the most renowned institute of this country, for b.tech. This college was near my hometown and it was the best college I was getting mechanical branch in. Further the academics in this college is top-notch.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is a bit tough and hectic and grading is on harsh side, the average cgi is around 6-7. The faculties are good, one can ask personal doubts. A small group of people are allocated to a teaching assistant for more personal doubt sessions.
Internships Opportunities :
I have not opted for any internships but there are about 200 on campus internships out of 1200 and getting an off campus internship is also quite easy because of the iit tag. Projects are also given by professors to interested students although they are hard to get.
Placement Experience :
Placements of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur are excellent and the average package is above 25 LPA . Placements are about 75% and are all above 10 lakh minimum. There are no mass recruiters and finance culture is predominant here.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are many scholarships available for candidates with reservations , economically weaker or female candidates. The requirement are generally good cgi. The fees structure for SC, ST candidates is also different and quite less
Campus Life :
The clubs are excellent. There are three categories tech, culture and sports. There are 3 fests of these 3 categories. The infrastructure is quite good, there are many fast food chains available in campus.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are average not very roomy but airy. Meal quality is good considering its a hostel mess. The hostels are very affordable. Menu is decided by the student body and is changed every month so the price also changes.
Interview Experience :
The entrance exams are JEE mains and advanced. There is no interview. Generally to Clear jee mains and advanced one should start studying from 10th (approx 2-3 yrs). You get maximum of two attempts by for jee advanced.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
