Factors for choosing IIT Kanpur - 1. Reputation 2. Academic Excellence 3. Campus Life 4. Placement Opportunities Admission Process - 1. Give Jee Mains and advanced 2. If you clear the cutoff, you get to the next round of counseling and seat allotment. Based on your rank you get the college and branch. 3. No GD or interviews , it was entirely based on Jee advanced rank.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My Branch wale solely decided by my rank. Had My rank been better, I would have chosen CSE or EE. Faculty - Highly qualified faculty members, hold advanced degrees from prestigious institutions in India and abroad. Their teaching methods can vary but most of them employ a combination of lectures discussion hours and practical demonstrations. Exams - Weekly Quizzes, 1 mid-term, 1 end-term. The exams are fairly tough. One of the toughest curriculums among all IITs. Fees - Tution - 100000 for general and obc. mess and hostel - around 20k. Total - around Rs 125000 per semester
Placement Experience :
Generally Excellent opportunities in placements. Most of the top companies come and offer a significant package to the best of us. However, there has been a decline in the number of students placed this year due to the down market.
Campus Life :
Antaragni - Cultural Fest in October Techkriti - Tech Fest in March Udgosh - Sports fest in September Library - Well Equipped with a vast collection of books, journals, and online resources. Classrooms - Equipped with modern amenities like speakers and projectors. Sports and Extracurricular activities - Vast range of sports facilities, including a cricket ground, football ground , hockey ground, and many more. Numerous clubs can be joined - Dance, dramatics, and much more. Hostel - Rooms are double sharing. Decent mess food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, is available. Overall good hostels

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
