Remarks :

When I was in class 5, my cousin's sister got admitted to IIT Kharagpur in biotechnology and her jee rank was 8000 around. All my family members were very proud of her and even my parents were telling their friends about her achievement. After a few days, her picture got printed in the newspaper and my grandparents living in our home village were crying for joy. Being young and dumb at that time thought the IITJEE exam was the only way to attract this fame and respect so I set my mind on it and went and expressed this wish of appearing for JEE, to my father. On hearing this my father was thrilled and optimistic about my future. Then since class 6, he made me focus on science extensively. In class 8 we shifted to a different city to get a better JEE coaching- FIITJEE. Then from class 8 to 12th, I was so busy that I didn't have time to look back or reconsider my choices, it was probably the most hectic and stressful time of my life, so much so that I got a chronic nervous disease because of it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite difficult, also RELATIVE GRADING is practiced here which makes it tougher because you get graded in comparison with the most brilliant students in the country. The difficulty level of exams is such that even if you have learned everything by heart still you won't be able to score full marks unless you have a brain that is just a bit lower IQ than Einstien's. [the profs allow all kinds of books/notes to exam and provide unlimited time to complete, they just want us to do one thing on our own and that is "think"]. The fees are not very high but not very low considering it is a govt. college. There are ample scholarships available for people who's income range is low and educational loans from banks are also available. Some friends of mine pay 0 rupees all for the tuition fees, mess fees, and hostel. [The tuition fee i.e. 1,50,000 is only for the general category and for the reserved students it is free]

Internships Opportunities :

There are ample internship opportunities available throughout the sem. Also, you can make a good network with useful people and get many benefits and internship opportunities. Officially I have an internship for the summer in UBER as a software developer intern and they are paying me 1 lakh and offering stay and travel expenses. Unoffcially I was in a club called Devcom-iitb. There I had a senior who knew an alum of our college who had a startup in Australia called GOBLU-EV. So I had worked in-sem as a full stack developer there and got 30k monthly.

Placement Experience :

There was 100% placement previously but this year there are still 30% unplaced but the placement season is still on and I believe they will get placed till the end. Also after graduating, there is a high chance of getting into Ivy League schools. IITB placement stats are very much available on the internet so I would not waste my time writing this.

Campus Life :

There are 4 big fests organized in a year by the students all of which are Asia's largest - Mood Indigo, Techfest, E-Summit by Ecell, and Social Fest by Abhyuday. Apart from this, there are department fests, department trips, and department sports events, organized by the department council. People from other departments are allowed in every department fests and trips but not in the sports. Boys are allowed in girls' hostel and vice versa from 7 am to 10 pm and there are no restrictions in going in and out of the campus which provides great freedom. There is a club for almost every hobby starting from the consulting club, analytics club, finance club or be it the cooking club or photography club. The film club known as the Silverscreen has done some really good work which is there on YouTube. All these clubs strive throughout the year to participate in the INTERNET CULTS and SPORTS. The infrastructure is most probably the best in India the hostels, lecture halls, and sports complex.

Placement Experience :

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
