A Brief review of XIMB
Likes
- The crowd I found at XIMB was fairly good, not exactly Odiya crowd only, but people from many other cultures also, like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai. Everyone comes with a different experience in life and have something unique to offer.
- The exposure to learning various management skills is pretty good here. Everyone from faculties, to ground staff, to students, everyone will give you an opportunity to learn something new everyday. The campus life will always keep you on your feet.
Dislikes
- Mess food which will taste the same through out.
- Time crunch. With so many activities students often feel burnt out.
Remarks :
Talking about my experience, I got a decent mark in CAT, so I got a call from the XIMB BM program. First, They took my interview, and then after 15 to 20 days shortlist will come. Generally, because of covid-19, only personal interviews happened, but before Covid 19, they took selection in 3 steps like Written ability test, a Group discussion, and a Personal interview at last. First, two steps are part of the elimination round. After we get shortlisted, we have to pay 3000 to retain your seat and after your conversion to this institute, you will have to pay another 47000 to this college. I don't recall the exact dates, but the first list came around April 1st, a week, then after ten days, it moved. My interview was good. There were three panelists in my interview; one asked me about maths because I am an Engineer, the other asked about why MBA, why XIMB, and Why Finance and some basics related to math and finance. The last one asked about my background, hobbies, and interests.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is excellent and helpful to everyone. Here, there are freshers as well as work experience people considering these diverse course outline is made. Faculties are highly qualified in their domains. Also, some graduated from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and other IIMs. The student ratio will be around 60 to 40. Many reputed companies are coming to our campus to hire interns. Some companies are Coca-Cola, Bains, Deloitte, IBM, PWC, Kotak, ICICI, ITC, Loreal, Titan, HSBC, etc. The average stipend is around 40000, which is very good compared to other B-schools. Fee hikes are dependent on the administration. Exams are conducted in semester wise.
Placement Experience :
Many reputed companies are coming to our campus to hire interns. Some companies are Coca-Cola, Bains, Deloitte, IBM, PWC, Kotak, ICICI, ITC, Loreal, Titan, HSBC, etc. The average stipend is around 40000, which is very good compared to other B-schools. Placements are excellent in this college. Return on Investment matters a lot for people; in this college, they have taken care of that factor. The ROI is quite good compared to other B-schools. In our college, faculties give two years of extension to do any startup you like, and also they provide 25 Lakhs; if it doesn't work, you come to campus, they will give you placements.
Campus Life :
Life is very significant on campus. Living here for almost one year, I have enjoyed a lot on campus and participated in many events. I have been an introvert, but here, I changed slightly. There are 20 committees in my college. There are two types of rooms in my college. You can have a single room or a double sharing room. In a single room, we don't have an attached bathroom as doubles have. Also, you must pay 10000 extra for a single room per year. Hostel fee for single sharing room is INR 50000 per year.

There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.

for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.

Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.

Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .

The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
