This college guru nanak khalsa college is very famous in mumbai so it amazed me by it's student's scores and their skills that's why i thought about joining it for my studies the cut off is high so it was hard for me to get my name in the merit list but i got my name in the third list the first list had students who scored 85- 90% and the reservation class students and 2nd list had 70 to 80 % scoring students then in the last one it was above 55% requirement i had scored 60.61 luckily so i got admission the fees for the first year is 28000 total I don't know about second year because it hasn't started yet
The difficulty level of the exam was pretty high for me (it could be different for other people who come from good colleges ) i came from a lower class college where the exams were very easy so it struck me hard when i took exam in gn khalsa but you will get used to it and we have the skilled teachers who give their 100% to teach so don't worry
I personally want to become a lawyer after completing my bcom threee years in the college i have no idea about placements but you can hope to get placements if you're a good student who tops the class and yeah job fairs happen but it is for the third year students so i dont know actually about it much.
I haven't opted for hostel the library has many books you can always rent out a book and read till you want but the library has to maintain silence and there are many workers to help with any queries you have so it's good to be honest the canteen has good food i personally like the pav bhaji and misal pav they're the best there are clubs in the college (leo club, nss, ncc, etc) I haven't joined them though sports and curricular activities happen very often and college also helps the students by giving them a discount at the gym
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
