- The teaching techniques and methods are quite good . Main emphasis is given on the academics This college offer good college life .
- The location of this college is amazing, not near the market. All the necessary items are available within the campus
Dislikes
- There were no extra curricular in this college. We have to follow a strict dress code .
- The timing of the college is very hectic From 9 in the morning till 4 in the evening.
Remarks :
This institute is one of the best institute for diploma in civil engineering in Himachal Pradesh. The result from this college is exceptional. The board topper are always from this institute. To get admission in the any polytechnic after passing 10th , you have to give a qualifying test called polytechnic entrance test (PAT) You can also join after 12th directly to 2nd year by lateral entry. This course is of 3 years. To prepare for PAT you have to study general maths, science and English upto class 10th The difficult level is moderate The selection is done on merit basis
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose civil engineering because of the opportunity of working in government sector is maximum in this field. The facuilty in this institute are mostly IITans, (graduates) The teaching method is very elaborate and detailed Main emphasis is given on practical work as compared to theoretical knowledge, as required in this field . In every semester there was 2 mid sessional test and 1 house test which includes 80% syllabus. The end semester examinations were always held timely And lasts for about a month Each semester consists of 5-7 subject And 3-5 labs The cost of study is very low The nearly 12k per year And half for the girls There was also fees relaxation for reservation students and physically challenged students There were quite a few scholarship for girls and reservation students But no scholarship for the general category students.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done my internship from the government sector i.e. from a PWD near my house . My role was to observe the daily tasks performed the junior engineer and to understand the general working procedure of the industry
Placement Experience :
The placement in this college is almost zero for civil engineering branch. Only one company visited for our placement and they were providing only 10k per month packages Most of the students after completing the diploma opt for higher education i.e. BTech I also opted for higher education to get more opportunities in this field.
Campus Life :
The life in government polytechnic sundernagar in pretty amazing It includes all the basic amenities necessary for a college life The college also have a football ground adjoining to the college Usually there are only few functions that are conducted in the college Main emphasis is given on the studies. The college library provides all the necessary books required for the course Along with other books. There were very few sports activities conducted by the college. The hostel in the college is pretty average. One room was alloted to 3 students . The hostel rules were very strict, There was fixed timing for the entry in the hostel i.e. 7 pm . The hostel fees was also very low , nearly 4k per semester. There was also a variety of options to stay in PG's and personal room. To avail for the hostel You have to fill a form , that will be provided to you during the admission process, the allotment of hostel is based on merit in the PAT examination

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs
