ILS is one of the most renowned law colleges in the state of Maharashtra as well as in the country, the college curriculum mainly focuses on academics, and the college admits students through the law CET, a score of above 100 /150 in the law CET is good enough for one to be admitted. The exam in itself is not very tough, a good prep, along with regular mock tests will be more than enough to crack the examination. But freshers should be aware of the fact that attendance is not something that should be overlooked the college takes this aspect very seriously, there are tons of cases where students have to sit back for another year.
The faculty is quite good as the main focus of the college is academics, since I belong to the post-COVID batch the examinations schedule nowadays is a bit of a mess but it's slowly coming back on track, ILS falls under the SPPU (Pune University) the paper pattern, question paper, results are all handled by University itself. As for the scholarship part, there is not much difference between aided fee and unaided fee structure (3-5 thousand difference in total fees)
Till the third year of BALLB/BBALLB the college timings will be from 11:40-3:40/4:30 so opting for continuous internships is not possible, one can opt for them in preparatory leaves and post-exam holidays
There is only one major fest named (legalese) held in the month of march, although as compared to other Fests in Pune it is nowhere bear the benchmark, if u are into team sports then it either the sport and take admission somewhere else, or the college and say bye bye to your active lifestyle as the college is "said to be" banned in inter-college sports competitions But on the bright side, there are quite literally tons and tons of clubs and social groups run by students along with a faculty coordinator.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
