Tcet is overall a good college. But there's a management quota, otherwise, this is one of the good engineering colleges in Mumbai. Both Mhtcet and Jee mains scores are applicable for admission. But mhtcet scores are most preferred. There's a Hindi minority quota due to which the cutoff falls till 80% in mhtcet, and the cutoff for general is around 90% in the aiml branch. It varies depending on the branch the cutoff is high for CS branches and lowest for civil and mech.
The faculty here is good but some faculties don't know how to teach but they know their field. All faculties are knowledgeable, and teachers of tech subjects are all mtech qualified, experienced teachers are PhD qualified and some are pursuing as well. The academic is overall Good. It's an autonomous college so the syllabus is quite structured. The teaching experience was good for me in the first year and there are scholarships like ebc and other backward classes that are also provided with scholarships the fee is 170000 for a single there's no fee hike, and it will be the same throughout all the years.
At the end of the first year, they have this Summer internship which is from the NGOs, and the actual internships in the companies are provided in the third year. Internship opportunities from companies like TCS and JP Morgan is provided.
The training and placement cell (tnp) of tcet is very active. They work actively for the placement and packages of students. We are given information about the tnp companies from the first year itself. The packages can vary from 3-30 lakh per annum.
Campus life is one of the best features of the. A tcet student will have a good friend circle with great skilled people. There are two main fests namely the cultural fest and Zephyr -the tech fest, all the clubs of Tcet come together and organize these fests. There are numerous clubs in Tcet that provide networking opportunities to students. TSDW is the largest student club followed by rc-tcet, iste-tcet, and many more. All the branches have their clubs and their cultural clubs as well, like the drama club, literature club, and dance team. Overall social life is good in that and the students here are friendly and helpful with each other. The hostel is 15 minutes walking distance from the campus, it's a single building with different floors allocated to girls and boys. No mesh food is provided.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
