- Great peer group and companions, which pushes one to his limits and motivate him/her to work to achieve. Also the great peer help us to learn various different things and thus gave us a way to explore our lives.
Dislikes
- Due to relateive grading in exams, there is a aort of rivalry among batchmates to score more thys creating an environment of unhealthy competition among friends.
- Some old hostels are not ina good conditiona nd should be rebuilt and also adequate spaces in room should be there.
Remarks :
As IITs are one of the renowned colleges in not only India but also in the whole educational world in terms of producing the best engineers, so I chose the college. IIT BOMBAY is one of the top institutes in India its top-notch faculty, high placement record, one of the best technical and cultural societies, research opportunities and one of the finest peer group makes the college amazing. One has to take the JEE ADVANCE exam to enter any IITs. The cutoff varies for different categories and different programmes. Last year for General Category-Male, it was around 4300 closing rank for the Civil Engineering programme in IIT BOMBAY. However, for the most demanding branch- CS, the cutoff was around 70 rank(general-male). Yes, I too have cleared JEE ADVANCED (IIT JEE) with a rank of 3867 and was admitted to IIT BOMBAY Civil Engineering. Generally, folks prepare from coaching institutes, but I did it by self-study with regular learning of all three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is not too tough, however, questions asked in exams are a bit tricky and demand the application of concepts rather than remembering concepts. I chose the course because of my interest in civil engineering, structural analysis and a lot more. The faculties in the department are well qualified, each having their PHD and research from prestigious colleges like Harvard, Stanford, etc. having immense knowledge and clarity of the subject. The teaching method of most of the professors is good, focussing on developing applications rather than only mugging them. However some professors do teach not so well, they just deliver what they have in a sort of boring way. However most of the professors make the class interactive and enjoyable with a strong feedback system. The exams are taken in two terms: Mid-sem and End-sem with two quizzes in a semester. There are various Scholarships provided by the in for economically weaker sections and also there a no tuition fees for the SC/ST Community.
Internships Opportunities :
As this was my first year, having n much prior experience of skills I have not opted for any interns, but generally internships come on the campus for third-year students and some for second-year students too. Also, the internship placement rates on the campus are amazing and some of them later get converted into permanent jobs as Pre-Placement offers (PPOs).
Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are a lot when you complete your graduation from prestigious colleges like IIT BOMBAY and that so is the case. A lot of big companies in all departments (software development, finance, consulting, civil, mechanical, etc.) visit the campus for recruitment. There is no such criterion for placement but some companies like Amazon, and Google to sort out people set a bar of cpi (generally 8.0) to sit in interviews. The highest, lowest and average package varies year to year as sometimes recession takes it down. This placement year records tin 2023 the highest package was (3.67 Crores p.a internationally) and (1.68 Crores p.a domestically) from ll departments. For the civil department (2023 placement records are) the placement percentage was 83.76% and the average package ranging 12-15 lakhs per annum. The top recruiters in the department are L&T, Tata, and Ramboll. However, some people take jobs in other sectors like finance, consultancy, trading, quant, coding, etc.
Campus Life :
The social life is much enjoying at IIT BOMBAY. There are various social, cultural, and technical events organised in the institute regularly. One of Asia's biggest cultural fest Mood Indigo is organised in IIT BOMBAY every year in December. Also, the techfest which was organised in December last is one of the biggest technical and renowned f in the world and is organised in IIT Bombay. There is a big central library with the availability of a large no. of books from all different fields, There is also a reading hall open 24x7 for students to study at any time. The Gymkhana sports facilities are just amazing with courts and grounds for each sport such as Cricket, Football, Basketball, Badminton, etc. There are various clubs in the institute like Drama Club, Comedy Cons, Technical clubs, Web and Coding club, NSS, NCC teams, etc. Hostels are inside the campus itself. The freshies get H-16 or H-1. The hostels are not too spacious and are congested but good enough to stay.

It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat
Placement Experience :
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced.
