Likes
- Faculty are very much educated, most of them have done PHD's from top foregin universities.
- College infrastructure is quite nice you will get world class infrastructure here in both academic as well as sports infrastructure.
Dislikes
- Faculties are sometimes goes too deep in topic which is not required in course not at graduation level.
- Competition is very high here, if you want to be number one then you have to really work hard here, because all other students are also intelligent.
Remarks :
To get addmission in IITK you have to score minimum of 75% in boards examination and also you have to qualify JEE mains and get a good rank in JEE advance. On the basis of rank in JEE Advance you will get IITK. There were no Group discussions interviews or written tst for admission. IITK is one of the top 5 old IIT's it has a huge campus size of around 1100 acres.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is old and rigid though they are trying it to modify according to the industry requirements but it will take time. You have flexiblity to choose the course you want to do but it will depend on professor whether they will accept your course request or not. IITK has toughest academics among all IIT's so getting good grade is tough here. We have on an average 4-5 class each day and 2-3 labs of 3 hours in each week so semester is very hectic here. There are various Scholarship available like MCM and various government as well as donor scholarships. In a semester mid sem and end sem are conductucted including the quizzes.
Internships Opportunities :
I have recently completed my first year so currently I wasn't able to get internship. In internship most of the companies that came in placement visit comes in internship as well. Intership season starts from august when you are just entered in your 5th semester. Based on your performance in Intern tenure you may get PPO(Pre placement offer)
Placement Experience :
Placements starts from Dec when you are in your 7th semester. Various MNC's come here for placement. Like Google, Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart and various others. This year highest package was 93 lacs which is known till now but considering recession placement session went well having avergae package of 17 lakh and highest of 93 lacks and almost 80% students got placement.
Campus Life :
Live at campus is pretty amazing. Here you will get people from all parts of India so it's really a great thing to have a such a connection from all over india it helps us to learn different cultures and traditions. Here Hostel is called Hall's and there are 14 halls here currently I'm residing in Hall 13 it is quite big as it accomodates 1000 students. 2 types of rooms are available double sharing and triple sharing and it is given on a lottery basis. Rooms are decent in size and you will get your cupboard, noticeboard, rack and study table and all other basics things all rooms are non AC. There are various clubs and societies as well like Finance, programming, game development etc apart from technical we have fine arts, music, and sports clubs as well.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
