So I completed my Diploma in electronic and telecommunication from VES Polytechnic and wanted to pursue the same for my degree. So here the admission process takes place in 2 ways either you take the CET exam and get admission in 1st year or else you can complete your Diploma in any course and get admitted in Direct 2nd year. For admission, you don't have to take any other test or examination. So the cut-off for Direct 2nd year also varies from 89 to 92 percent. And for CET it is above 90+ percentile. The cut-off is high as VESIT has that reputation.
For Electronics & Telecommunication Vest is considered as one of the best colleges. Here most of the faculties have either completed there PhD or Masters. That means the faculties are well educated and have a great experience of teaching. All the faculties are very supportive and cooperative. As VESIT has turned autonomous we have only one Midterm test of 20 marks during the entire semester and along with that, every subject has its CA(Continues Assessment), for every CA there are 20 marks for each subject. The final end-semester exam is of 60 marks out of which 24 is passing. The exams are of medium level as every question is from the thing taught in the class. The fee structure is changed as the college turned autonomous. But then you have a government scholarship which provides up to 40k fee relief. The scholarship name is Mahadbt.
In VESIT during the placement, you can get an internship in companies like Amazon for sales and administration profiles after which they offer you a permanent job. Other than that VESIT also provides on-campus summer internships which are held by the individual department, no stipend. Recently VESIT has a private limited startup called the Cpulser which provide a paid internship for 6 months or it may vary. Around an 8k stipend is given during the internship. The faculty in charge of this are very supportive and cooperative.
The criteria for placement are set by the companies as every company has its criteria. But then the basic criteria is no backlog, no gap years, and most of the companies ask for cgpa greater than 9+. Big MNCS visit VESIT for campus drives namely JP Morgan - 3 offers, JP Morgan Chase - 1 offer, Deloitte - 26 offers, EY - 10 offers, TCS - 29 offers, and so on. This time due to the recession the companies have given very less offers or we can say that very less students could get offers. Around 800 students sit for placement out of which around 400 got placed. I was the placement coordinator of my batch and have seen the placement drives very closely. I have chosen Indian Arm forces as my futher career. Where you can opt for an A-grade office.
VESIT is not famous for its fest and other cultural activities but yes it's not that bad if you have great company of friends. So the main cultural event is called Utsav which is in March. Other than that there is a sports day called Spurti in December and January. Apart from this, other events happen during the academics. About the college library, you get all your course books available in the library. Students from 1st to 3rd year get 2 books to take home and BE students get 3 books to take home. Other than that you can take books and study in the library. VESIT has various societies and clubs namely IEEE VESIT - @ieee_vesit CSI VESIT - @csi_vesit ISTE VESIT - @iste_vesit VESIT SPORTS - @vesit_sports Code Cell VESIT - @codecell_vesit VESIT ECell - @vesit_ecell VESIT music @vesitmusic VESIT Photocircle - @vesit.photocircle VESIT connect - @vesitconnect Cultural VESIT - @cult.vesit And the final official college page @vesitedu
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
