Remarks :

After XIIth, I had wanted to join for a foreign language course, and it was through the newspaper I came to know about EFLU. Upon further research, I learned that it was one of the best universities in the country - an institution solely dedicated to language and its studies. Further, I also read that they had wonderful faculty, and the campus boasts a rich source of learning. Unlike its present admission process of applying through CUET, we had to write a separate EFLU entrance test in 2020 September. The exam was moderate, with questions from English language, grammar, and basic quizzes from the languages among the foreign language programs offered in EFLU. I practiced the same with previous question papers and some English grammar questions. No coaching. I applied for a BA Hons. Japanese, and got in among the 20 seats for the course with the national 8th rank. Afterward, around November, classes started online due to the pandemic and were only made offline in August 2022.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The University boasts of highly qualified faculty. Most of them had doctorates and were well-versed in Japanese language studies. During the online classes, the faculty handled classes quite well, making them entertaining and informative. There were issues in semesters 3 & 4, like high absentee count. Even then, most of the professors maintained the quality of classes. After classes became offline, I must admit some courses were not taken regularly, and we often had canceled classes. However, portions were always completed, and both internal and semester exams were conducted punctually, with moderate-level questions. The evaluation system and teaching method were efficient. As it is a national university, the tuition fee, hostel, mess fee, etc., are all quite affordable, with a good standard of living. Scholarships and fee exemptions, as per UGC, are also offered to students from EWS, PWD, or reserved backgrounds. They can directly apply for the same through the university website.

Placement Experience :

One may apply for the placement drive during the final semester or can continue their Postgraduate program in EFLU itself, now apply via CUET, or apply to various universities in and out of the country via the placements. A placement cell handles contacting the HR of various companies, and the interviews with these companies, with offers from Amazon, HP, Tata consultancy, Concentrix, etc. They also provide students with seminars regarding the same. As per student reviews, companies don't come looking for just the language, so it's better to equip oneself with additional skills. Foreign language students usually get placed in decent jobs, while English language students often go for an MA or NET for a strong academic career. Starting salaries are occasionally promising, but not terrific. Jobs offered are mostly in Sales or consultancy. As suggested by my Professor, I decided to pursue an MBA instead of a job, so I did not apply for the same.

Campus Life :

EFLU campus is very vibrant! A lot of cultural festivals are conducted, with students from all over the country celebrating together. We also have student-organized events for Pride month, iftaar, Janmashtami, Holi &Christmas. We have the RameshMohan library on campus, which has journals, textbooks, newspapers, classics, and everything one would need! There also is an online archive accessible to the students. Football, cricket, badminton, and basketball tournaments are regularly conducted among departments. The campus has a recently built, quality sports center as well. Further, there are student clubs for music, theatre, art, poetry, dance, etc. As for hostels, there are two for women and one for men. Then one each for international students (M&F). Hostel rooms are assigned once registered and are double or triple-shared. The facilities are really good, with an affordable fee (?250/month, unreserved). The food quality is above average, but manageable, with various good choices in the menu.

A glimpse of MRUH

Placement Experience :

The campus placements are good and there are companies coming in every year for fresh talent but it all comes down to our talent. We are provided with an opportunity but we have to work for it ourselves.

Not so great

Placement Experience :

Placements and Internships The placement opportunities at my college are average, with a limited number of companies visiting the campus every year. Students who maintain a good academic record and possess strong technical and communication skills have better chances of getting placed. Generally, students with no active backlogs and a minimum academic percentage as specified by the recruiting company are eligible to participate in campus placements. A few recruiters visit the college for hiring, mainly for entry-level roles in software, IT support, and core engineering domains. However, the number of offers is limited, and only around 40–50% of students secure campus placements. The average salary package offered ranges from ?3–4 LPA, while the highest package varies depending on the company and the student's performance. The college also encourages students to apply for paid internships, which help them gain practical industry experience and improve their technical skills

Where learning meets industry

Placement Experience :

One good thing is that placements aren't treated as something that only matters in the final year. From the early semesters we are encouraged to build projects, improve our coding skills, and create a strong resume. That gives us enough time to prepare instead of rushing later. The college also shares internship opportunities and guides students through the application process. There are resume reviews, mock interviews, and career sessions that help us understand what companies expect. I feel the support is there throughout the journey, the more effort you put in, the more you can benefit from these opportunities.

A satisfying learning journey

Placement Experience :

Best part is the college doesn't wait until the final year to talk about careers. We get opportunities to work on projects, improve our coding, build resumes, and attend interview preparation sessions from the early semesters. Internship opportunities are shared regularly and the college guides students through the application process. This has helped me gain practical experience and understand what companies expect.

Learning, growth and great memories

Placement Experience :

From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.

Reasons I chose NIAT

Placement Experience :

Since I am still a student I haven't gone through the final placement season yet. But from what I have seen the college starts preparing us quite early. We have regular coding sessions, aptitude training, mock interviews and resume building workshops. The placement team also shared internship opportunities whenever they are available. I feel the college is more focused on making students job ready than waiting until the final year. If you stay consistent with your coding, projects and overall skills, you will be in a much better position when placement season starts. Overall I think the college provides good support, but students also need to put in their own effort.

College life beyond classroom

Placement Experience :

As a current student I haven't reached the final placement season yet but the college has already started preparing us. We get regular updates about internship opportunities, and many students apply from the early semester itself. Along with that there are sessions on resume writing, aptitude, communication skills and interview preparation. The college also encourages us to build projects and improve our technical skills, which helps while applying for internships. I feel these small efforts throughout the course will make a big difference when placements begun.

A great place to meet like minded people

Course Curriculum Overview :

One important thing I like about the course is that it isn't only about reading books and writing exams. We get to practice what we learn through coding, assignments, and small projects, which makes the subject easier to understand. The syllabus also covers topics that are useful for todays tech industry. The faculty is friendly and easy to talk to. They explain concepts in a simple way, clear doubts without any hesitation, and we are already ready to help if someone is struggling.
